Why would Colorado trade Kadri and retain 50% of his contract? He struggled at times this year and his suspension was possibly devastating to Colorado in the playoffs, but he fills a major lineup role that Colorado cannot fill internally (second line center). For Colorado to give up Kadri and retain half of his salary, you have to believe that Sakic thinks it is more important to remove Kadri from the team than having a major lineup weakness and less salary cap flexibility during Colorado's cup contending window. It should be a major, major red flag to Toronto if that is the case.

Truth be told this last incident was a little different. It wasn't Kadri losing his mind, it was just a dirty hit. So he hasn't lost his mind again which he said he wouldn't do. Kadri has to face facts that he's a wanted man by the DPS. I don't know that he's smart enough.

I suppose if the price was good enough, I would listen. We certainly can't be that choosy with how completely awful of a bottom 6 Dubas has constructed without any money to improve it because he's overpaid his golden boys.

If the price was right, yes.
I mean Wilson is a marked man as well but I’d take him for the right price.

I really love the player for his competitive energy and skill but he can't seem to learn to not cross the line when it really matters. It would be almost inevitable that he'd disappointment us again by taking himself out of the lineup with a reckless play. I would welcome him back after his current deal expires if it's difficult for him to find employment. As a veteran forward spotted into the lineup but not relied upon heavily, he might have some value but he very well could disappoint again. These forwards who play on the edge often depart the league with one last incident.

Avs need to sign Makar, Landeskog and Timmins, so need to find a way to shed salary. Can't imagine they have any attachment to the guy ainfter what he did vs the Blues.

If Colorado would agree to retain 50% and the price wasn't outrageous would you want him back?

Kadri I love the guy. One of my favorite players ever but 3rd times a strike out for me.

He didn't need to make that dumb hit on Faulk. Absolutely no need for the hit. He has zero control and is baited way to easily.

He can't be relied on and will be a distraction to the team as they prepare to try and win a round. Think it's best for both sides to not have a reunion
Two of his suspensions were unwarranted, he's labeled a repeat offender, but isn't the dirty player that many seem to think. I'd take him back because the Leafs need some toughness for defense and to protect their star players.

"Mitch Marner?...hell no, get rid of him. He'll never change."
"Kadri?... hell yes! He'll be different this time; he's learned."

Hard no.

If he keeps the pest game he's a risk, if he doesn't keep the pest game he's another soft skilled player who doesn't play defense.

Just to remind everybody, Kadri got suspended in '18 and '19 for doing exactly what everyone here wanted someone to do - stand up for the guys. And now you guys are thrashing his name cause he's not a Leaf
He was also thrashed here, as a Leaf.

He made poor choices. The suspensions were likely too harsh, but he still had better, more courageous options that he chose not to take.

Kadri basically an All-Time Leafs player.

He was here for that 3rd period collapse against Boston when Reimier could not make a save.

Then he watched his team from the press box being eliminated from the playoffs three times due to lengthy suspensions.

I do not know of an NHL player of a similar quality to to have accomplished what he had done.

I don't know if he is coming back here, but Kadri is a loser, who just knows how to muck it up, he is the prefect Maple Leafs.

Kadri is one of my favourite players to ever wear the Leafs sweater. As a fan, I really mean that.

But we all are what we are.

Go Leafs Go!
Go Leafs Go!
Go Leafs Go!

If that’s what believe ‘everyone here wanted someone to do’ you’ve poorly understood the sentiment of the board.

After reading the "3c options" thread, I would welcome Kadri back. With Kerfoot gone, the pickings are very slim for a 3c.

He would sure fit into a group with something to prove in the playoffs, the ultimate redemption in his home town. I’d kick the tires for sure, price wouldn’t be much at this stage.

It was only 2 playoff suspensions. The length of the suspensions was not warranted compared to the infraction IMO. We could use a Kadri playing with 34 or 91. I'd take him back in a heartbeat if Colorado would retain $1.5m and not ask for too much.

If the Leafs took Kadri back, it would be as a rental and they would have to sign a second player to cover for his playoff absence.

Honest question, did any Leaf hit a Hab player cleanly any where close to as hard as Kadri hit Faulk or Cliffy hit thae CBJ dman last year?

Kadri replacing Hyman would be huge. Skill and grit in one and he can step up and replace 34 or 91 if case of injury. Dubas should seriously go after him if the Avs are selling low.

3 playoff suspensions in 4 years. No one can defend this, nor should they bother to try. That also doesn't include 2016, where his season ended with a suspension but the Leafs didn't make the playoffs.

We needed somebody to replace many of our no-shows this playoffs but I digress. Seriously though, maybe a serious talking to and you have a backup plan as you say (LOL) just in case.
