Would you take Kadri back?

He could be paid nothing, but if he still blows a hole in your lineup in the same way he's done here in the past / with the Avs, his AAV is pretty irrelevant, right?

I mean if he is paid that little then you have that money to spread out more. 4.5 million dollar Kadri not the current Leafs roster would be a major problem. Imagining a playoffs with him suspended and Tavares injured is a scary thought.

Yep - it's not pretty. I get your point about using cap savings for more depth, but that's still a huge hole to fill.

The poster I quoted asked if suspensions don't count against the cap...

Just pointing out the argument made no sense as the cap doesn't exist during the playoffs.

If the poster said something else I would've had a different answer.
 
One could probably make a good case for him if he came back for less than 3 mil caphit.

But let's face it, he's got zero self control and is a marked man by dps. He's going to get suspended again, and the odds are it'll happen next time he's in the playoffs.

He’d have to agree to go to a sports physiatrist and anger management classes before I’d accept anything. He has a lot of talent, but his boneheaded and undisciplined plays cost him and his teams a lot

I would take him back to put him to 2nd Centre if we could afford it

Tavares - Matthews- Marner
??????? - Kadri - Nylander
Robertson - ?????? - ??????/Hyman
??????? - Brooks - Spezza/Anderson

He had that great playoff run last year, if he could remain disciplined, which seems unlikely, he can still be a great playoff player

Kadri - Tavares - Nylander

Either way I doubt it happens, you just can't trust him not to do something stupid based on adrenaline and emotion

Mixed, the Leafs need feisty players, but Kadri's actions has cost two different teams their playoff series.
 
I'd take him back simply because the odds of him getting suspended a 4th playoff would be more impressive than surprising.
