Yes, under 4m, as long as you can move mrazek.

There aren't going to be a lot of other options. Any decision must include consideration for what is available and at what price.

I keep thinking he’s going to buyout his contract wasting a million bucks of cap space.
How sad if this is going to happen. The team just clear up Kessel $1.2m cap. If Mrazek buyout is going to happen, basically they still waste this $1.2m cap hit.

Campbell will definitely demand more than $3.8m because we have a great GM who will over a contract like this. Then the team would continue to stuck with core 4 and no money to spend on depth players. Don't even talk about the physicality part.

Said this in the trade thread but imo the 2.75 offer if true is just negotiating
If you want to sign him around 4 than that just an opening offer

Campbell was your best player against Tampa. Without him the Leafs probably lose games 3 and 5

... just how badly do you think every other player played?

Campbell was mediocre at best. Sub .900 sv% won't cut it in the playoffs.

All I can say is that I hope he wasn't fully recovered from his injuries because he was a completely different goalie in 2022. He was probably rushed back too soon when the healthy goalie depth was Kallgren and some straw stuffed inside a Pogge jersey

Voted yes for <3 but i'm fine with him leaving.
I just have no faith in him maintaining a high level of play or even staying healthy for an entire season + playoffs.

Can't waste time/$$$ with any tender who can't WIN big games .. go with da kids .. neither Mzrak or Soup are da answers .. if Mzrak can be traded then maybe keep Soup as a backup

I wouldn’t be upset either way. He’s a good goaltender but not someone who I can trust to take us all the way to Lord Stanley unless he goes on some magical run that he probably wouldn’t ever repeat again. Therefore if there a true number one goalie we can acquire I’d prefer that but if not and we run with Campbell again I wouldn’t be too upset.

So how is Dubas absolved of having goaltending issues?
Goalies don't score highlight reel goals, so the Dubites aren't interested.

But that's thing, in the most important position in hockey, we continue to be weak. Whose responsibility is that? What has he tried, 5 or 6 different guys in his 4 seasons?

It's funny the hard core Dubas supporters or Dubacult if you will, will say tell me exactly how you'd get a goalie... like I'm paid millions and have a whole staff at my disposal

I'm guessing the hockey equivalent of Moneyball says you can spend less on goaltending but I would suggest having an elite big mojo goalie would actually free the rest of the team to be a little more aggressive in truly playing the way they want.

Lovely man. Incredible backup goalie. Unrivaled teammate.

Agree and hope he gets very well paid - elsewhere.

But if he's here again as the starter it's a sign the management is scared and taking the easy choice because they know the hard choice is making a move in net when the player is well-loved.

Raptors management didn't blink when they shipped derozan out even though he was well-loved. Good player but he's not the best player on a championship team.

Very similar situation here.

He's this year's Zach Hyman. Great human being and teammate and a key cog on this year's team. But the Leafs had him at such a discount the delta in keeping him makes it extra challenging.

whatever the level of goaltending in a series, our guy always seems second best. It was the same again this season, at least when it came down to elimination time anyway.

time to change that.
