Its not Vancouver homerism, its the fact that he is no better than someone like Myers. He is a liability on defense and his offense is not that good either. If Nurse was a good top 4 dman then Oilers would not have that big of a problem on D.

The Oilers didn't have a problem on D last year with Nurse anchoring the 2nd pair. The Oilers are sort of out a lot of systemic stuff right now, its not all on the defensemen, and certainly not on any one player. Tying it to Nurse alone is pretty ridiculous.

I don't know if I ever voiced these out loud, but I thought Rantanen was overhyped and would become just another big bodied middle-six winger. On the other hand I thought Kakko was a sure pick, destined to be a very good 2nd liner at worst. Hellebuyck maybe becoming an average NHL starter with luck etc...

Why would we know for sure based on a poll of HF? The guy sheltered by the reigning Norris trophy winner getting prime offensive opportunities, or the the guy carrying #7 defensemen on his line getting a bulk of the defensive zone starts. Polls can be fun - but they aren't exactly evidence like you are claiming.
