Yeah this is why I've been saying Bouchard should absolutely not be playing in the NHL this year. People who watch the Knights regularly will concur.

Just broke up a 2 on 1 but there is no doubt his defensive game needs work. Not happy with his play thus far defensively but it's August not going to read a ton into it.

I think Yawney will be good for him and another year of junior.

The problem with Bouchard is that his angles and spacing are poor defensively and he lacks footspeed. If they are walking him at the junior level he will get torched in the NHL. Luckily he has tons of time as long as Edmonton is patient.

yeah there's no reason he can't be totally fine going forward. offense and transition ability have so much value in the modern NHL, so he should be a good one

I've made the comparison before, but Bouchard is a lot like Pulock was. All offense, defensive issues and mobility concerns. It's taken a while and the Isles did him no favors, but he's improved his skating and his defensive game. The future is bright now, but it was a process.
