What time is the first game today pacific time?

Injury after injury... concerning?
Maybe, but Blake ( I believe it was him or someone in the front office) said he will be ready for the main training camp. They probably don't want him to play in a meaningless game when he is just recovering from a serious back injury

How did Kupari do?

He flies around but doesn't seem to know what to do with the puck once he's in the offensive zone. He's definitely an elite skater but his mitts need some work from the two games I've seen of his.

Worth noting again that it's summer hockey and no one is at their best right now, the games have been a little sloppy.

I thought I'd put some thoughts on the CAN-SWE game here for discussion's sake. I'm an Ottawa fan and this is a summer exhibition game so take it for what it's worth.

Alex Formenton: Really skilled. Half a step above others. Needs more confidence with the puck to be a full step above. Seemed surprised when his moves worked lol. Created lots of chances with speed and forecheck. Seemed to be the best player on the ice. Didn't notice his linemates (Suzuki and Frost) too much.

Ty Smith & Bernard-Docker: After these two were put together in the 2nd, they were really good. Neutralized pretty much all rushes way before it got to the net. Good puck movement out of the D zone and good at holding the line in the O zone. Seemed to be in sync, calm under pressure and combined for really good gap control. Ty Smith stood out before they were put together too. Bernard-Docker makes really smart reads. Possible pairing for Canada?

Hayton-Bowers-Entwhistle: Best forward line for Canada. Created chances on the forecheck and just seemed really solid getting into the O zone. Entwhistle especially impressed. Possible 3rd/4th line for Canada?

Boqvist & Ginning: Definitely the best pairing for Sweden. Seemed fairly solid in own zone and great in transition. Especially impressed with Ginning.

Sweden Forwards: No one in particular stood out. They had a lot of breakaway chances that they didn't take advantage of.

Bouchard & Phillips: A disaster. Were put together in the 2nd. They turned the puck over a lot in the D zone. Bouchard especially got exposed. Pivoted the wrong way, made a terrible pass from the D zone that created a chance for Sweden, got beat on the rush multiple times. He did make a really good pinch in the 3rd though and a nice icing-pass play with Formenton. Hopefully he shows better in the December camp.

Special teams: Terrible for both teams but that's to be expected with so little practice.

Edit: Also noticed Ratcliffe was pretty good. Big, fast and made some good passes.

Edit 2: Lavoie was also really good in the first half of the game. Created lots of chances and looked like he would score. Dunno if he got benched or I just didn't notice him in the second half.

He was one of the better defenseman in the game. Canada's best puck mover.

Though I would say no one on Canada looked "good", except maybe Formenton. Everyone else ranged from invisible to mediocre. The game in general was extremely sloppy, which is to be expected.

Smith was a player the scouts were correct about. He skates very well with good agility and change of direction. He has good vision, he can pass, and appears to understand positioning in the offensive and defensive zones. He doesn’t have a big slap shot and he is on the smaller side although he does reasonably well with leverage for a guy his size.

Frankly, I don't see much top pair upside. But, I think he'll be a good 2nd pair guy.
