To all the Jones bashers, he has still been much better than Barkov, and until today's game Mackinnon. The only draft player with a better showing is Jonathan Drouin.

Jones had a couple of great chances today to make a difference, one was a great save by Subban, another was a shot that just missed. He looks better than Dougie Hamilton infact. Infact he looks far better than Trouba did last year at the same tourney.

Jones is very much looking like the 1-2 top player to be take next summer. He has not slid in my rankings and Button's also from his TSN interview. He is such a possible difference maker out there.

His game wasn't even that bad today to warrant the bangwagon jumping.

Neither Barkov, nor Jones, has been that good. Both have shown flashes, but really haven't been what everyone thought they were going to be coming in.

Lots of hockey left.

Drouin has blown me away with his skillset and compete level.

He has played 1 year of junior hockey and yet he doesnt look out of place at all, and in fact is one of our best players. I just cannot imagine what he could do to this tournament at age 19

I've been on the Drouin train for a while now. His size isn't ideal, but in terms of ability, he's right there at the top.

He reminds me of Patrick Kane. Unbelievable hands and creativity, a great skater, and not the biggest fellow, but really plays hard every shift.

My thoughts(I only watched first two periods):

Team USA:

-Thought Biggs was pretty average, never really out of place, but didnt really amaze me with anything.
-Galchenyuk has been invisible for two games, not sure if he turned it up in the third though. It'll be interesting to see him against NHL competition.
-The smallest player was actually the best! Grimaldi is really quick and made some slick plays.
-Jones was pretty underwhelming, made a lot of mistakes.

Team Canada:
-Subban was great in net this game!
- Dougie Hamilton still hasnt impressed me, he was decent but nothing special again.
-Reilly has been very solid, strong on the puck, deserves a bit more time on the ice with Ouellet who has also been great.
-Murphy is a terrible d-man, dont have high expectations at the NHL level for him.
-Happy to see mackinnon getting more time, he deserves more than 4th line duty.

I thought Ritchie looked good on the forecheck this game.

Its actually getting to be pretty funny how nationally hated Ryan Murphy is.

I'm just glad Rielly's had a very solid showing so far at the tourny .. Last thing we need is other fanbases and haters bashing our latest draft pick after we speak so highly of him

He looks awesome. I don't really care one way or another if he makes the Leafs next October (if theres a season)...I'd be just as happy seeing him in an expanded role for Team Canada.

I almost feel spoiled as a Leafs fan having a legitimate stud prospect to be excited about. Its been a while.

 What time is the game tomorrow?

Yep. Don't care when he makes the Leafs, he will be a very good player down the line and I don't mind waiting.

Why are they playing back to back games? I woke up at 5PM today because I was up til 7 something watching, how am I supposed to watch a 9AM game now? I can't sleep early because I won't be tired and I can't stay up til ****ing 9. Such a **** schedule.

You ****ed up.

Such a **** schedule man, whats your plan? I'm thinking about just sleeping at 3 or 4, waking up at 9 then napping after the games over.

Well my work is closed until Wednesday, so sleep isnt altogether that important to me for the next while but I did plan this out pretty well. lol

I slept five hours last night and this morning because I wanted to be able to have a normal sleep tonight.

Now I have a case of Hoegaardens and me and my buddy are gonna watch some football tonight, get a bit sauced, then wake up with pancakes bacon and more beer.

I'm astonished by how terribly Murphy thinks the game.

Ryan Murphy is the hockey version of a street baller. He just seems to be all about individual efforts, flashy uneconomical moves like spin-o-rama passes on the point on power plays and holding onto the puck way too long to try to make some low percentage, easily defendable play. He's so ****** it's not funny.
