Yeah but its rare to see him get in an actual situation where he can use and when he has so far in this tournament he just shoots it right in the bread basket.

Ive seen all five of Biggs' shots this tournament.

Unacceptable use of valuable draft picks.

That might be true, however it's impossible to gauge at this moment. He still needs to develop, many players in his age group do as well as people in his size category.

Time will tell, he was always projected to be a first round pick, by Central Scouting, TSN scouting and the Hockey News. The ISS had him going at 30. Teams saw a big man that can skate, forecheck and shoot the puck. He has the potential to be a fantastic role player and a fan favourite(IMO).

We need guys like Biggs in our line-up, his cycle game is VERY strong.

The 2nd round pick we gave up to move up was used to take Gibson....I would take Gibson over Biggs ...not to mention the added pick.

Griffin Reinhart and Morgan Reilly should be the top pairing. Both have excelled tremendously at their respective roles (PK and PP) better than both Hamilton and Murphy in limited ice-time. Their ability to still be impactful and efficient in limited ice-time speaks for itself. I don't see any reason why this cannot transfer and work 5 on 5.
I think our top 4 should be
Harrington and Rielly
Oulette Hamilton

First PP being Rielly and Rienhart

So the winner of can-rus goes onto the semi finals, what happens to the loser? They still have a shot at the medal round right?

To the best of my knowledge the winner of the Can/Rus game gets a bye to the semis. The loser has to play in the quarters. I think......

Ahahah Nail Yakupov is hilarious

"What did you say?"

"I dont rememeber, something about Team play"

hahaha

I feel sorry for players like him. Speaking in broken english, and being asked to repeat word for word what you said a day ago and break down the meaning of those words.

I dont feel sorry for him. He was cocky and was taking a shot at Canada. Now he realizes he gave Canada Bulletin board material, he tries to back off.

Just because you don't speak perfect English, doesn't mean you don't know what you're saying. Yakupov isn't stupid and he was in full control of what he said. Hope the Canadian boys show him the reality of some good clean hockey.

This is what the Leafs wanted out of their first round pick in Biggs?

These type of players seem available everywhere, including outside of the first round. To me, at least.

I don't believe worst case 4th liner, realistic case of 3rd liner as a bad choice for a late first round pick. The chances of getting an impactful player (especially one with size and grit) are greatly diminished that deep into the draft.

Look through previous draft classes, and check what % of players end up as regulars in the NHL.

The way Yakupov is playing. Im not too worried about him. Grigorenko looks much better.

Agreed, he should have been on a bike while being interviewed .....the back pedalling was almost visible.

All you can do is check subsequent picks to see if a huge mistake was made.

Burke could have been drafting for need at that point letting BPA slide.
