Yeah I do, when Czech knock out the loud mouth canucks...

I wanted Canada to win if the US team didnt...but not with the knuckles head here gloating over a US loss...Now all root against..
I understand how you feel but if you think that European fans respect the Team USA, you're in for a big surprise when you read their true feelings. Compared to them, we're very nice towards the US team.

Hey..don't lump all Canucks into the same category with some Canadians here who get enjoyment out of someone elses misfortune. Of course I want my team (Canada) to win it, but there are many of us "north of the border" types, who are not gloating over the fact that the U.S. lost.

I would loved to have seen a U.S.-Canada final, but unfortunately the Americans just came up a bit short tonight, and Canada still has to get over an obstacle to even make it to the final...and I for one am not taking our next opponent lightly.

I find the gloating, "nah, nah, nah, nah" type of behaviour to be completely un-necessary, regardless of who does it. And to those gloaters who would say..."its just in good fun"....lets see how your tune changes if your team (be it team Canada, or your favorite NHL club) gets bounced and you are taunted.

Don't even get me started lol. It's such a joke, isn't it? I cannot stand that sport, I'd rather watch grass grow.

Like I said, I like baseball but when I see a player sit out with some of these injuries they have it makes me laugh. Then you see a guy like Yzerman play on one leg in the playoffs. I takes a special person to play hockey that's for sure.

I know funny...baseball injury...."sorry jon wont be playing tonight he stubbed his toe on a coffee table" "Got to feel bad for the guy, he was really looking forward to this game".... :joker:

Portland and Hartford consistently put the south to shame in terms of ratings too. Yet they have no NHL teams. Its preposterous.

Going way OT from the Finland game but this is why a Cap should be in place. Screw the players who wants 10 million dollars a year. Small real hockey towns of 500.000 - 1.000.000 should have a real shot at getting a hockey team. Thats where kids play hockey and if you can spark genuine interest and get the media in bigger cities to follow not just their own teams but the sport in general, you'll win alot more in the long run.

What, you mean that Reilly guy? I guess he represents out country then....

No, there was more. Go look. And there was only probably about 3 Canadians doing the same thing here tonight. There are idiots on both sides of the border. American idiots are about 1.31 times as bad though, due to the exchange rate.

Sure, it was nice to see the Americans lose in "our" sport, whatever, but it was nicer to see the Finns win. Congrats. Enjoy it while you can. You may be tops in the Strongest Man competitions, but hockey is ours. Toronto told me so. ;)

They hate us for more reasons than hockey...its just icing on the cake for them :lol

Why can't we all just get along? Or at least hate the same team...like the Japanese team! Ha, ha, they didn't even make the tournament! Suck it Japan!

They did?

Seriously, this was a great game and I'm glad I stayed awake watching the staged north american final go into thin air :handclap:

I'd also be cautious if I was Canadian taking the Czechs for granted. I'm not so sure it will be a walk in the park for the Canadians. The Czechs play like Slovakia, but there's a few differences:

Czechs have a real goalie.
The Czechs have more than one good defenseman.
The Czechs are overall much deeper than Slovakia.
They still possess mad offensive skills even if Jagr should be forced to sit it out.
Don't you think we know that? Read some Canadian articles and Nagano keeps popping up. To this day, our semi-final lost to the Czechs still hunts us. Unlike Swedes though, we have much more confident in our team.

And Iginla is what? Thornton?...heck, I'm a Bruins fan and I know how he can be....Mario i'll cry to the ref if someone gets near me...There are not alot of players to like on Canada either, I'd still cheer for them until now with some of these posts here...I wanted a USA Canada final, and I would have been upset if the US made it and Canada didnt, but no respect from North of the Border..thanks guys.

I hate Hull, Chelios, Leetch..its not like I liked everyone on USA either, but I still cheered for them.
You have to know by now that many Canadians don't like Team USA. It has been like that for years, it's nothing new. Some would rather see Team Canada lose to the Russians than to Americans. Unlike Europeans who like to gang up against North Americans, most Canadians only care about Canada and nobody else. Personally, I hate the Czechs the most but I can't say that I am happy whenever the USA wins either.
