Probably for the best that we keep politics and sports separate here for the sanity of the mods alone. Its clear our foreign policies have earned us a lot of scorn and disdain internationally, but in all seriousness, it has absolutely nothing to do with which team is iced in a tournament like this.

 It's a joke, for fecks sake! Ie. GWB will never lead your country to a World Cup victory. :joker:

" But hey, look at the bright side: you win the baseball's World Series every ****ing year! Whatta riot!!!!"

I don't know how you can cheer AGAINST a team of Keith T. and Hull, and then cheer FOR a team with a J. Ruutu and Niemenen to beat them. It's the same god damn thing. I don't get this whole Canadian animosity against America.

Yea, good question...since all the dam Canadian snowbirds love to come down to Florida and annoy the heck out of us. Stay up there where you belong and freeze your butts off! :D

Canadian hockey fans cocky? Well it's better than the poor "fans" USA has. I'm surprised if more than 300 000 people in USA watched the game. Ah, it's so right that USA lost. So right. Finland and Canada are true hockey nations and deserve to succeed.

Momentum

They intervieved Teppo Numminen after the game and he said that because of jet-lag and that their main goal was to keep first period 0-0 so that the USA coudn't build the momentum.

And just build from there and keep playing their own game and be confident that it would pay off. And how did it indeed

Usa seemed little more fresh at start, but loosed the energy going to the end. The stats of first period tell it all. Scoring changes 3-3, hits 22-11 to Finland.

Lets not insult particuluar fan base. If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it.

The true American hockey fans are just as fervent as their Canadian neighbors. The underlying problem is the ratio in the population. Hockey, due to the oversaturation of other more entrenched sports, isn't popular here.

Hey, its not america's number one sport like Canada. Ask Canadian fans if they cheer baseball teams like hockey....nope!

there are no cockier fans in sports than Canadian hockey fans.
Ah, was it cocky to predict a Canada-Finland final before the tourney began? Or just to bring it up now?

You watch hockey for a few thousand hours and try not to have an opinion you're confident about.

Canadian hockey fans are the truest fans in all of sport.

(though, yes, some are bandwagon jumpers)

Canada 4 Finland 1 MVP Sakic or Kiprusoff. I'm sticking to my guns.

Well, I enjoyed the last period of the game. I missed most of it, glad to see some goals(nice one from Saku Koivu- I hope I never say that again :joker: )

I'm really just lost right now, what is everyone's animosity towards the USA for? I don't get it.

No, the American hockey team is a joke.

No, the fact that you're 24 and act like you're 10 years old is a joke. You can't even use the correct grammar, how can anyone take you seriously?

You see, some people think that no one cares about anything except for hockey. WRONG. Some people up here in Canada are interested in baseball, basketball, and the other sports that our mighty Canadians play.

The truest fans of all sports is the knucklehead red sox fans...When was the last time the one the world series?...world war one? Yet they sell out every game.. I am from this area and I hate the loyalty to a team that chokes constantly...but I would say they are the truest fans though...
