Lot`s o frespect fot Sweden doing it once again! Tied the game in final seconds. Today it`s just wasn`t enough. I don`t know what to say...monday we meet Germany it should be our game, but we need to contrate propebly cause Germans have nothing to lose. And Swedes I hope they beat Chechs :handclap:

Of course the best game so far in WC.

Sweden was far better than the other games before and they played better than

Finland scored ALL their goals on even strength, sweden scored 0 goals on even strenght. And few of those penalties were very weak calls. Finland ruled 5 on 5 and got what they deserved.

EDIT: no need for that language /pred

No waits Czech Republic which will be hard but defenitly not impossible. Sweden has the best powerplay in WC and will advance to semi finals.

The Czechs will kill the Swedes if the swedish defense is as bad as it was today.

Finland got 1-2 "lucky" goals, and Sweden got billions of chances, but didn't pull it.

Did you see that shot by Niko Kapanen where Tellqvist saved with the tip of his stick, accidentally!

Finland deserved a win, but refs helped sweden to tie.

If hardy would be smart the defense against the czechs would be something like

Lidström - Norström
Ragnarsson - Öhlund
Johnsson - Tjärnqvist

I agree, well maybe not the "**** off" thing but still Finland was much more disciplined and didn't try to be too cute. I love the way coach Summanen builds his teams and the way his teams play. Much more effective than Aravirta.

Refs are blind, and usually to both sides. Let's just be happy about the tie and not whine about what we wanted but didn't come true.

Yeah, something like that. Lidström and Johnsson doesn't work, thats for sure. However breaking up all three defensive pairs before the quarter final wouldn't do much good anyway. I'd actually like to see someone like Christian Bäckman instead of Kim Johnsson.

I have to agree with Finnish head Coach raimo Summanen: This is a great and important day for Finnish hockey.

:handclap:
I'd say it's a fun day for finnish hockey, but not important in any way.
It's fun to see that the cream of the crop can do well in a tournament with "the best". But it'd only be important if the games had any importance and were played on the standard ice surface of international play.

When all three pairs are broken, fix them is my motto.

Well it's bad for Finland to get penalties when they are aware of Swedens powerplay.

Get rid of Kimmie in the back and Sweden should do ok, he's made so man misstakes.

Maybe so. But I liked what I saw from Norström and Ragnarsson the games before this one, although that pair is a bit immobile ;)

Raimo Summanen, the Team Finland head coach, wasn't happy with the fact that many of the Team Finland player couldn't handle the pressure of the game and under achieved. He said that he is proud of the team because they didn't get the result they needed but the game showed that there's a lot to do with the handling of pressure in finnish hockey.

Thoroughly entertaining game :handclap: Sweden has some things to work on for next time, 5 on 5 play, defense, goaltending. Any chance we might see the Sedin's in to add a little firepower? They couldn't do worse than Naslund at this point.

Rags is more mobile than you'd think ;) he can take some nice strides at times.

It was important in every way..Finland gets Germany in the quarters and more than likely avoids Canada in the semis. Brilliant day.
If it was a value tournament, instead of a money making scheem(sp?) for the NHL it would be an extremely important day. But it isn't.

Yeah but how could Finland possibly be ready for that last call on Timonen. He did absolutely nothing wrong. Only thing wrong on the ice at that time was the elbowing by a swede.

The finns didn't have much in the swedish zone. With normal goaltending this would not have been a tie.

he did crosscheck Forsberg in the neck, didn't he?
Although I personally thought it was a cheap call, but IMO there were many in this game.. especially those goalie interferences by Zetterberg and Hentunen.
