Entertaining game. With better goalkeeping Sweden might have won. And with better PK Finland might have won.
 
Yeah, long waited revenge is ours! Whoo!! Heck of game, thanks for the swedes for it! These games would be so much lame without Sweden. Battlling like that I hope the best for swedes against Chech!
 
Probably best game of the tourney so far, the Swedes showed their deadly firepower but fact of the matter was that Finland was the better team 5 on 5. Finland's penalty kill was weak but it got the short end of the stick on the reffing today I think, especially that ridiculous cross-checking penalty with a minute to go. When you let the players play you don't suddenly start calling insignificant infractions.
 
Bah. Unbelievably poor swedish defense hands the finns the victory. There's a reason sweden loses this game. I say they lost because to just tie that finnish team with the firepower we got is nothing but a loss. The reason is disciplin. The lack of it.

Ragnarsson should've been there... Playing Tärnström in an intense game? :dunno:
 
at the end of the game, when we pulled telly out. no one tried. They didnt care.
Now were up against a tough pissed off Czech team. While Finland cruises to win against Germany.
 
WOW. What a game. This one had the real Finland-Sweden rivalry. I am happy with the result, it was a win for us. This way we get germany in the quarters and avoid Canada in semis!

Very entertaining. Two very even teams. Loved it

What the HELL was that Timonen penalty about? No reason at all.'


And every Selänne basher can crawl under a rock.
 
not the best game technically, but it sure was entertaining.

Some general player comments
- Mikael Tellqivst, great third period.. a couple of key-saves.. I hope he keeps it up
- Peter Forsberg, skating too little.. but is improving.. still not 50% probably
- Markus Näslund, it is time to bench him now
- Kim Johnsson - absolutely brutal defensively in 3 games so far. Let him play with Norström
- Nicklas Lidström - great game today IMO
- Daniel Alfredsson - see above
 
Although I didn't see the game, my guess on the goals kipper allowed were because all of the skaters were too busy trying to beat sweden...
 
Of course the best game so far in WC.

Sweden was far better than the other games before and they played better than Finland tonight.
Finland got 1-2 "lucky" goals, and Sweden got billions of chances, but didn't pull it.
Sweden earned a victory couse they outplayed the finns in 2-3 period.

No waits Czech Republic which will be hard but defenitly not impossible. Sweden has the best powerplay in WC and will advance to semi finals.

Both swedish keepers should be confused about their chances right now... Tellqvist will probably be the one in nets, but the difference is minor in results. Salo makes blunders, but also takes pucks that Tellan could not even dream of taking...

That should be the best explanation. I could understand him being scratched against per say Germany or so... But when a tough, intense game is on... Ragnarsson should be there for sweden, one of the best sparkplug/handyman lower pairing d-men in hockey today.

I don't really know whatever happened to my feed. I tuned in between the first and second, and after 3 times flashing "Fetching stream", and a bit of buffering, I get a pretty decent feed. Continues up to sometime into the third period, when it just become more and more chippy. Disconnected to try to see if it worked, then once got the message that this game was US only, again reconnected and since could no longer connect to the stream (just times out while fetching vid). Other items also took longer to load, so it seems ESPN just can't handle it; while fetching the stream, my network only downloads a few kB/s, so that can't be it :help:

Yeah, I said so in an earlier post. Tärnström, Johnsson and the Forsberg - Zetterberg - Näslund line was especially weak defensivly tonight.
