It's their biggest weakness by far. No top talent at the back when Davies plays further up the pitch.

Tbh given the fwds/wingers they have... with even more coming tbh with Koleosho and Corbeanu... should probably move Davies deeper next WC.

Also, maybe Luc de Fougerolles hits by then and is a Prem player.

The Portuguese youth contingent should produce a couple more midfielders too.

It has been a lot longer than that. Brazil in 1994 was the worst example of it that I have ever seen. Yugoslavia was also rampant with it always. Those are just two cases, but they are egregious.
I hear ya and agree. I just felt that tournament was when it seemed everybody started doing it and going down way too easily. I’ll blame Ronaldo for everything as that was his first major tournament
