Congrats to team USA. They really had Canada on the ropes for a better part of the game. I'm not thrilled with the results, but the better team won. The shootout winner was a really nice move. This was literally the only event I absolutely wanted the gold in.

I don't even care about the men's hockey, but these ladies fight tooth and nail for recognition and funding and deserve everything they get.

I would've preferred a non-shootout victory, but I'll certainly take this over a defeat, especially since a shootout defeat would've felt no worse than a regulation or overtime loss.

What's appropriate use of it, to trash the country? Are there actually people in 2018 who want the song reserved for that purpose and disapprove of it being put to a more positive use?
 
I was wrong on this game.

When a team wins 24 straight games in the Olympics and has had an every 4 year streak of big game clutchness this millennium, it’s hard to pick against Canada.

Dead wrong.

And even still Canada had some incredibly clutch moments in this game. U.S. just punched back in this one. Congrats to the U.S. on the win. And to the Canadian women for a well deserved medal as well. Would have been cool for them to complete the drive for five but they can absolutely hold their heads high regardless.

They’ve been very good recently but Canada has had their number up until now (at the Olympics). Even this OG they split the two games. I would pay to see a best of 3 final with these two teams, it always feels like memorable games.

This generation of American women are very talented and the favourites in 2022. So much speed and skill.

Like Sochi, this game went into overtime tied 2-2.

But the way it got to overtime, was it more or less different from that game?

Well I know now not to take you serious. Shame on you for trying to discredit these women. That was an amazing game, and i’m sure most hockey fans would agree with me.

Even if you accept that - and USA has been winning consistently outside the Olympics - USA is still dominate. Acting like they were some major underdog is wrong.

sorry but this game was about as exciting as a game as I have seen, and I am guessing most people have seen if they were honest with themselves

and do you berate some High School players since they are not as fast and strong as NHL players?

Im not trying to discredit womens hockey. Im just not invested in it. I think its great what they do. They do much more than i will ever do, atleast in terms of athletics. But im not really a watcher of womens hockey and found it a bit diff to watch.

Again i think womens olympic hockey is great. Im just being honest that i didnt like it (i havent really watched womens hockey before). I didnt mean to diminsh what they do.
