Man, Canada was so unbelievably sloppy in the second half. Too slow to keep up with the Americans too.

Obviously they're going to make some changes to their team but their HC needs to go as well. They looked like a disaster at the world championships as well. It's a miracle the US didn't convert on any of those turnovers.
 
Congrats to team USA. They were the better team in the 3rd period and OT. Disappointed that Canada could not close the deal. A disgusting line change that tied the game, and a PP that did not get it done in OT. Bad discipline also did not help. Changes need to be made if this team wants to get it done in 2022. Starting with the Head Coach and some of the players, who did not get it done.

The Canadian goalie had a lot to do with that. She stood on her head. But it is hard to deny that the Canadian skaters were totally outmatched in the 4-v-4 OT period.

Everyone realizes that. What I think that some people don't realize is that the rest of us know and don't care. I, personally, wholeheartedly approve of it being co-opted for a more positive purpose than it was originally intended.

why are they using shoot outs to decide a world championship?

imagine if basketball ended in a 3 point shooting contest or 1v1s

They were outmatched 5 on 5 as well. Their structural issues just compounded the problem.

They also couldn't find a way to penetrate the US defence. Every shot they took was from like just inside the blue line.

So you think women’s hockey is great, but you don’t like it? What?

You absolutely are discrediting these women. “Slow and super weak shots.” Sounds like an opinion of someone who has never watched women’s hockey. It’s a different game but they are capable of amazing feats as well. This game is evidence of that. There is hockey outside of the NHL, just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean you have to try and bring others down as well.

Canada had the better team but the USA ladies gutted it out.


Canada needed to score on that 2nd period PP when M Lamouruex boarded that girl. They didn't and left the door open and lost.

Great team top to bottom and fabulous coach tough loss for Canada ladies thats a great squad.

My Bruins need to trade bitch ass Ryan Spooner for Caroline Spooner.

to be fair they were the better team slightly in the 1st 2 periods..after that it was all USA

"Born in the USA" was Springsteen's tribute to Vietnam Vets and how badly they were treated when they returned from the War.

It's an inspirational song and there's nothing wrong with it being co-opted tonight for the ladies victory.

In case you didn't know, South Korea also sent troops who fought and died to protect South Vietnam from being taken over by the communists.

After this, I think there is a realistic chance one of the US player(s) is the closing cremony flag bearer.

Maybe Rooney or Lamoureux? Kessel or the face of the team Hilary Knight.

Nah. I think its great women participate in womens hockey. But im not a fan of it and will probably not watch another game until the gold medal game in 2022. Idk how thats bringing people down... Its just not for me....

No luck is needed when it's been happening for 33 years, since the song was released. If you and others think that repeatedly pointing out the true message of the song will eventually stop it from getting used as a patriotic anthem after all of this time, then you need the "good luck with that."

whats probably bringing people down is using terms like "embarrasing" and "pathetic" for a team thats won 4 straight golds and were one shot away from a 5th, while watching from your comfortable couch at home. or maybe thats just me :huh:
