The goalie would have been the MVP of this game if Canada had one. She stood on her head. Amazing stuff.

nah.
going with Shannon was the right decision but they are def. going to go with Genevieve moving forward. the goaltending isn't the issue. the issue is Canada's speed. (and dumbo coaching decisions)

Hats off to the American Ladies Hockey Team... they played well tonight. They are great skaters and alway push the play.

Proud of the Canadian Ladies as well... quite the run of wins in Olympic Hockey.

Disappointed that the coach went away from the aggressiveness of their fore-check, which was working. They sat back all 3rd period and were pathetic in the OT... how many shots on net did they get in that OT (outside of the PP)... maybe 2. Why the hell would you go with such a short bench in OT. I understand the first 5 minutes you might so that, but for 20 minutes of 4-on-4. It looked like they were skating in molasses for the last 8 minutes or so. Then the coach stay loyal to her veterans in the shoot out.

Completely agree. They were out of gas. Legs completely gave up. Mikkelson especially. Also, on the game tying goal, the defensewoman went for a line change when she was the only person back leaving the American player on a clear breakaway. Who does that?

try 1920 to 1932 and they lost in 1936

Idk for me it is. Shootout is so randomn. I was actually thinking how funny/dumb it wouldve been if canada won this as they definitely did not deserve it. If it was 2ot and continued on, usa wouldve won and i think it would mean more and wouldve been more exciting. Crosbys 2010 ot goal was awesome and i dont think i would remember it as fondly if it was a shootout. Maybe its just me tho.

Would have the same view if our team won? Shoutouts in championship games have been part of international hockey for quite some time now. We may not like it but it does not ever take away from the win.

Theres a reason why nhl playoffs dont do shootout tho
