Good match by the Fins. Better 5-on-5, but what can you do when you're whistled 30+ minutes and at least half of those bs calls.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

+Korpikoski
+Tukonen

No, he was saying that the American announcers were complaining about a call against the U.S, and that they shouldn't complain since Finland has been screwed over as well.

They weren't really complaining. They thought the Chris Butler call was weak. That's all

Great Game I sure hope this was a wake up call for these guys. Finland played really well wow that was close!

If this isn't a wake-up call, I don't know what would be. They better crush the Swiss team to get their confidence back up.

Bad game for the US, IMO. Should never have let the team score 5 goals at all.

Ya I would say both the US and Canada have some work to do really quick like.

They definately voiced their displeasure on the Wheeler call, also, which they said was just a regular check anywhere else. That was the main thing that got my attention.

6-5 USA final.

Gotta say this one left a bitter taste, the reffing was the worst I've seen in any hockey in years and Finland got the short end of it way too often, the whole 1st period was 'dominated' by the ref giving the shaft to Finland.

5 vs 5 play was close with Finland having a slight edge, the problem was once again the defense which was downright brutal.

You should be able to figure it out.

6-5 USA with the Finland goal.

I guess the refs are trying to make up for it at the end of the game, eh? ;)

Usually when one is tripped down when he breaks free, you get either a penalty or a penalty shot, so it should not surprise you. We have not been complaining about our blatant high sticks either, the beef I have had with the refs are the calls like US player hooking a finn and finally managing to trip him, and finland got the call for holding the stick, even though the player had his both hands on his stick and was playing the puck with a hook under his arm.

Finland's game was ruined by the penalties, some where unbeliveble calls i might add..

Tukonen and Korpikoski played well.. im still wondering what's up with Joensuu.. Lindgren was invisible, mayby cause of the penalties..

All I meant with that was at least it evened out right at the end.

Finland played well tonight. The US played very mediocre.

If the US plays this way against the Swiss and Canadian teams than something is wrong. Hopefully this is their one bad game of the tournament.

Yeah pretty fair report I'd say. Finnish defense was better than against Canada though. Rämö did not impress like he has done in finnish league, but I would still give him the next start. He was nervous, but did not over commit like Rask did.

The end result was a nice slap in the faces of people who in this thread thought they were playing against Norway again. It could have been better though

Hasn't Joensuu not been the greatest in Finland either? He seemed to at least play physical tonight from what it sounded like.

The Korpedo played spectacular.

It's just that...it's easy to "even out at the end" especially when it really was one of his few good calls. But he should not have to even out, he should have reffed this game evenly all night long. That game would have rocked.

To be honest, I think the US would've played better WITHOUT all of the calls... They have great 5-on-5 skills and it's obvious that their powerplay is very mediocre. They just don't have a grasp on that yet.

USA was mediocre tonight, and Finland played well, but when your playing ~30min of the game one man down you'd better play superb to win a match..

It was an exciting game, but too bad the ref blew it. Korpikoski was clearly the best Finnish player on the ice. I knew he's good, but didn't know he's that good. And can't blame Rämö for the goals, he kept us in the game on PK. But anyways, congrats USA for the win.

You think with all that skill thier powerplay would be great.

Agree. I was impressed with our 5-on-5 play, but our D once again sucked.
