WJC Gold Medal GDT: Canada vs. Russia

One of the proudest moments of my life, and I haven't done a damn thing all day.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going..... And the rest... well they just point to their name on their jersey and crawl home on their hands and knees.Congrats to all----just wish the talk could be about what great hockey players Ovechkin, Malkin, and the rest are, but they have some growing up to do. I'll agree that teenagers do stupid things, but their coach should have stopped that b.s in the first game when Shirokov taunted after scoring on a penalty shot. He did not get benched or even miss a shift. The Russian coaches are jut as much to blame as the players. P.S after the U.S--Rus game did they shake hands? ESPN cut off the game. Thanks

Don't watch TSN or ESPN then. Of course he is going to be biased towards the Canadians. I'd expect the same for the Leafs or Canadiens if I went to watch Leafs TV or Le Jeu Francais.

Bias is expected. Gord had bias. Fine. But Pierre acted like team Russia repeatedly ran over his dog, and team Canada had personally given the dog blood transfusions. Every hit by Russia was a cheapshot, everytime a player went down it was a dive, and every hit Canada delivered, and even the ones they missed were MONSTERS. Never mind his spiel about everyone hating Russia and cheering for Canada. I want a colour commentator, not a bald, annoying cheerleader.

Now Canadians can say they are undisputedly the best hockey nation on earth.

Under 17 World Champs.
Under 20 World Champs.
Men's World Champs.
Women's World Champs.
Olympic Champs.
Hard to believe that in 1998 they had a "What's wrong with Canadian Hockey" Summit.

Life is made of peaks and valleys, and hockey is no exception. This is a peak time, let's hope that we don't get down on our country the next time we are in a valley. :teach:

They did, I saw a picture.

This crowd has me so depressed, they're so happy lol.

Congratulations to Canada but shame on those canadian fans that booed Ovechkin when he was going to receive his trophies... Where's the "class" in that? I just wonder... :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead

Canada only won because their Goaltender Jeff Glass is probably the BEST under 20 goalie in the world right now... put anyone else in there and Russia would of win!

Why can't Miller just leave them alone? They have plenty of time for interviews later.

Again I say why watch the game or even post about it then?

Holy Crap!!! I thought it would be closer.
Does the score reflect how the game has been played or is it unfair

No, it could've been 11-1.

total domination by the Canadians, it looked like they were playing against pee wees all tournament.

im convincved the USA team would have offered much better competition in the finals. the Russians looked terrible.

I REALLY hope this was sarcasm.

You KNOW its true. He is extremely talented and strong, i haven't seen a goalie move as well as he does since seeing Lethonen back in 2002.

He's a 1st round draft pick in 2005 for sure. mark my words.

Perhaps because discussion boards are about opinions? How about contemplating that for a while.

Well because every time Canada and Russia had met it has always been a doozy that has come down to the final seconds. This game was a dreaded dud. In fact, you'll be glad to know that I hardly watched the third period, and when I did, I wasn't even paying my utmost attention.
