Malkin is going to be a big-time playmaker... doesn't have the hard shot like AO, but is the best stickhandler i've seen since Kovalev..
hopefully the Pens will deal him to a team where he'll have a top end sniper to compliment the arsenal...
Or hopefully the Pens simply aquire a sniper of their own. :dunno:

Thanks, I realize Canada is dominating as I expected, I'm looking for heart in this Pens pick

He was one of the few Russians today, that were level with this game.

That is the best junior hockey team ever assembled. Amazing top to bottom. Absolutely amazing. Sutter deserves a great amount of respect and credit for selecting this team. He took a ton of heat in his selections and he came to the tournament and his team kicked the pants off everyone. Kudos to him and Canadian hockey.

I think where Canada really is a cut above everyone is on defense. You could likely take an all star team of defenders from all the other teams and it still wouldn't be as good as Canada's.
Exactly, no team could suit 4 defensemen that could come close to Canada's core. People keep harping on the various teams goalies and lack of two way play by the forwards. Reality is no one could match Canada's D

It's nice that after 7 years of being beaten up on by everyone from Russia to Khazakstan to USA, Canada finally gets one, but what a horrible tournament this was. Not a single great game involving Canada. How dissapointing is it that in the year that Canada has put out its best squad in 10 years, every other world power put out either one of, or their worst.

Frankly, I don't see much to celebrate here.

Then why did you watch the game then, or post for that matter

Congratulations Team Canada

the future of hockey is in good hands... this was the best crop of prospects i have seen since the Kovalchuk year... Jeff Carter is awesome...Crosby is going to phenomenal, already is...

I'd love to see 2005 Canada vs. 2003 Russia or one of the early 2000s Czech teams.

Exactly my thoughts. But no can do. Finland fielded it's weakest team for the last 10 years and Sweden has problems of it's own with the junior program. Also USA was weaker this year. IMHO, Russia and Czech had mediocre teams, that did have talent but not enough depth this year.
