Not surprised to see Biondi playing his linemate at UMD.

Will be hard for any of the 3 Hab prospects to make the roster but hopefully all have strong camps to make the decision hard. Granted either one of Biondi/Tuch can play on the 4th line or be a solid 13th F to have. Hutson there's some tough comp at LD, but don't know if they would move any to RD to say keep Hutson even if it's just as a PP specialist.

If Hutson doesn't make it, he should be a lock for December's.

It would real impressive if Tuch makes the team since he is a replacement invite. Even as a 13F.

I like this tournament, but it pulls way too much weight with respect to evaluating prospects.

It's still a small sample size, so we shouldn't automatically pencil someone in as an automatic top 6 nhler just based solely on whether they got nuts in this tournament. See Ryan Poehling.

Tuch is really dissapointing. Be ready to not see reach his full potential. Biondi, I liked him at draft day, but not expecting him a whole lot. Hutson...who cares right now. Look at that D.

Why? He always needed a minimum 3-years NCAA, which he enters this season + 1-2 AHL seasons.

I never got excited about Tuch. Timmons hardly ever drafts good forwards, especially his choices of forwards with size and limited offensive upside.

But it ain't over for Tuch.

He was hurt in the last tune up but yeah unlikely he makes it but that's fine.

I do think there's still plenty of runway for him to make the NHL. He was always a support player so the question is can he grow his offense enough to support in a top 6 or top 9 role or will he be solely a bottom 6 guy.

Does anyone know why Ty Smilanic isn't on the US roster? He was on the team before Covid shut it down.

At this point, we are talking about making the WJC. And a guy with his pedigree, size, and supposed qualities should have been able to at least be more on the list than frekain Dominic James. A 6th rounder. Picked THIS YEAR. Tuch was picked 2 years ago. Tuch, point per game has been abysmal in his first 2 NCAA years. As of today, he is seriously underperforming. And it's all great to think that he still could amount to something, he enters his 3rd year. This year will define if he is stil a legitimate prospect for us. Unless we, again, want to paly the 4th year russian roulette and hope he signs with us if he finally has a great 4th year.

Needing a minimum 3-year NCAA does not mean solely being there. It means progressing. And he needs a HUGE year this year if he ever want to figure out in our prospect list.

I was hoping Hutson might stay in a 7th Dman/PP specialist role but it's hard to take a spot away from the guys that were there last december/january. Oh well, he should be one of the favorites to make the 2023 one , he'll definitely get his chance.
