A lot of these kids missed so much hockey the last two years, I think it’ll be good for them long term.

Well, hopefully, all these camps will help them with their development.

All I could think was that's a lot camps in a short time frame. CHL playoffs and Memorial Cup are about a month later than normal, like the NHL season.

Summer is crammed. Hopefully, this is the end of it ....

It's going to be very interesting to see how some teams handle this, as some players that maybe they feel have a shot at making their team, they may not want to risk injury weeks before training camp starts (assuming it starts in mid-Sept).

On the other hand it gives the countries a good warm up for the 2023 WJC's since they would be just 4 months later. Would they look to this time around bring in some younger players that weren't on the '22 team so they can get the experience in before the December tournament.

At worst it's going to make the off-season shorter with the draft in July.

Feel like team Canada has to reconsider with leaving him off u20 roster. Most interesting part is he looked good in Montreal camp too.
Ya I remember that. I think he’s legit.

that said, he does still need to work on his skating and conditioning. But assuming he can get both of those things up to an adequate level, he’s got legit potential. PP specialist at least, and top 6 is definitely not a stretch as well.

We didn't tell the US not to show up during the Iraq War I'd say we already set a precedent that way. A WJHC without Russia is a waste of everyones time.
Two wrongs don’t make a right

The eastern seaboard locked in $700mm in forward O/G contracts from Russia the day after they invaded Ukraine. 10mmbbl/d in exports still flowing as we speak.

This isn’t the hill I want to die on, but if the IIHF thinks punishing some 18/19 YO kids for being born in the wrong country will teach Putin. Lmf***ing ass off.

We should ban Russians from everything... If you have Russian friends, ban them from your life.

Legault should introduce an anti-Russian pass, if you are a Russian citizen, you are banned from everywhere.

:sarcasm:

A WJC without Russia will lack something.

Don't really agree with punishing the citizens of a country for what their government is doing.
