Frankly, beyond the top-4 of Matthews, Puljujarvi, Laine, and Chychrun, I really don't see anything special about this draft.

There are some guys my friends been watching that he says are very good but will be late round picks or not even get drafted at all. He thinks a lot of what is going to be good about this draft is outside of the first few rounds.

I believe it. I just think that the first round after the big-4, maybe Tkachuk, is going to be mediocre.

Yea, I tend to agree. I still really like Jost and Fabbro, and Adam Fox is always impressive as well. Jack LaFontaine is another good one, as are McAvoy and Luke Green.

Still somewhat mediocre like you said.

Given this teams Euro trend, I imagine guys like Lukas Doudera and Tobias Eder are getting a good look from the org.

Werenski is kinda good at this hockey thing.

The US will be facing the loser of FIN-CZE with Canada facing the winner, those should both be really good games!

Is Sam Girard any good? His numbers are pretty lofty for a defenseman.

Yes.

He's a high end skater with great hands, vision, puck distribution skills, creativity and he's very elusive.

His size is going to scare scouts off though.

Looks like Chartier has become the temporary 13th forward after some (ineffective) shifts with Marner-Point and Strome-Marner.

Yeah I don't understand why Perlini and Virtanen plays and Chartier is 13th forward. Perlini took penalty and Sweden scored on that PP. I think that Lowry might rethink that maybe Perlini is better at 13th F.

He's playing more in the 3rd, with Gauthier and Barzal. Canada looks bad today, they are down 4-1 to Sweden. Chartier helped kill off a 5-on-3.

It's kind of hilarious how much Virtanen is playing despite being so bad most of the tournament.

I don't understad why Virtanen plays so much. Chartier has had like two shifts on 3rd and he is far from the worst forward of TC.

Canada lost 5-2. Chartier didn't get much ice time like our earlier posts said but he would've deserved more. I'm quite happy that Finland will play QF against Canada and not USA because Lowry gives more ice-time to players who don't play well and less to those who performs better.

Looks like Chartier might start the game vs. Finland as the 13th forward, though with the way things have been going for Canada he might not stay the 13th F for long.

I still can't believe how Lowry keeps Virtanen and Perlini top six forwards. And sucks to see Chartier as 13th forward because at least Virtanen, Perlini and Quenneville hasn't been as good as him.

But on the other hand Lowry's bad coaching is likely going to help Finland's chances to beat Canada and that is good thing.

Rod scored against Belarus on first match of relegation round. 1-1 after 1st.

After second it is 2-1 Switzerland. Meier had primary assist on Switzerland's second goal.

And Switzerland wins 5-1. Meier with one goal and two assists. Rod with a goal. Unfortunately I didn't see that game. Only follower stats on TSN.ca . But seems like Meier had really good game and.

I didn't watch the game either but it kind of seems like this tournament is a microcosm of how Meier's Q season has gone so far.

A couple of games where he's fairly unnoticeable, a game where he has one strong period and then a game where he's clearly the best player on the ice

On a side note it seems like the Hawks could have a good one in Forsling, he's been impressive all year & had a good WJC.

Chartier will be starting the game as the 13th forward.

I'm really looking forward to watching Canada try to shut down the Laine-Aho-Puljujarvi line.

We Finns will win this :D Lowry is disaster and keeps Virtanen and Perlini on top six and Stephens and Konecny on fourth line and Chartier is 13th forward. Chartier should be on third line and Konecny on first line.

Perlini has done nothing and still he plays over Chartier. I really would like to see Chartier getting more than ice-time than 1 shift on PK.

Shame that our defence and Vehviläinen has been rubbish.

LAINE!! 2-1

Not so sure that puck should be getting past you Blackwood...

A healthy Gauthier is a pretty good Gauthier.
