Canada just never put it together.

I don't question their selections/roster at all but they never developed much chemistry & goaltending just wasn't good enough.

Full credit to Finland, they've been outstanding & that game vs Sweden is gonna be something.

I am quite sure that Final will be USA against Finland! But yeah I didn't see what Strome did after the game ended so what he did?

Also I think that Chartier might be pissed off. He played well and was still demoted as 13th forward and then he can see when Perlini and Virtanen does absolutely nothing better than him and enjoy when Perlini's and Virtanen's penalties screws Canada's game.

I didn't think the US forward group would be good enough but their top 6 has phenomenal led big time by Matthews, and the bottom 6 has done well enough & been good defensively.

They've looked dominant in the last few games.

Hard not to be really pissed we refused to trade our 2nd and 1st for Provorov with the way he's been playing. Considering we'd still have Colorado's high 2nd for this year, I'd much rather have Provorov than Meier and Roy as much as I like Roy.

I think that our 2nd would not been enough to move up two spots. IMO our best case scenario would have been Barzal/Rantanen and Roy. I really like Roy and he is probably representing Canada next year if he isn't with the Sharks then.

He won't be.

Did Chartier even play a shift?

Very few...I didn't see him at all in the 2nd.

They relied on the 'should have been' top players to get it done and many of them weren't good enough.

I thought we tried to move up and no one else wanted to move their pick. Was this offer ever even on the table?

Only one trade was made in the top 15, which was - Traded Milan Lucic to Kings for Martin Jones, Colin Miller, 2015 first round pick (#13-Jakub Zboril) on 2015-06-26, and 22 other teams weren't willing to pay the price to move up to get him if the Flyers were willing to trade the pick.

Yeah I think that it is very unlikely but I still wouldn't rule it out if our RD depth is going to be same as it has been this season.

Chartier took two PK shifts on the first period (one on 5vs3 PK) and that was all he played. He would've deserved to play instead of Perlini on the Canada's second line. Actually he was one of the Canada's better forwards whole tournament.

I've not checked the WJC tournament in quite a few days, but I can tell that Sharks prospects must not be doing well since the conversation in this thread has veered off into other topics.

Well Meier played a good game today and Rod's whole tournament has been good.

Sweden will beat Finland but I think USA will get the gold unless Sweden gets another unreal goaltender performance. We seriously need to draft more Swedes, forget about the Swiss and Germans.

Rod was named as one of SWI's top 3 players but he was taken to the hospital after blocking a shot.

I haven't seen any updates on him but hopefully he's OK.

No more SJ prospects but this FIN-SWE game has been good.

Also, Rod is apparently sore but fine after a bit of time in the hospital.

That Finnish goal was a LONG time coming. Sweden really needs to stay out of the box if they want any chance of winning this game.
