Woulldn't go that far. Hockey is a nutty game. How Canada didn't score in the first couple of mins of the third is uncanny. For long sections of the game Czechs were playing as if shorthanded, just dumping anything down the ice and prevent D. Was like watching Poland play football.

We vastly outplayed Czechs and shite goaltending. Really Czechs score on a lot of their chances and we didn't, and had more chances. The way the puck crumbles. That said it was a pretty stupid and undisciplined game by the Canadian players but these are kids playing at Christmas time while the rest of us are drinking or whatever. ;)

How does someone with these stats get picked for Team Canada?, and to start the opening game to boot?

I just get rubbed the wrong way by the palms up every call plus the Michigan attempts.

I think this kick in the pants will actually result in a better tournament for the team but I wasn't impressed with the first game.

That’s a discipline problem with youth hockey In general.I don’t disagree with your assessment, 18 year olds should have that shit close to being out of their systems , but this tourney is a whole different level (even though they’ve played U18, Gretzky/Hlinka etc against each other). If it’s there next game, that’s on the coaching staff.
 
I finally got over my food coma from 2 christmas dinners(in 1 night) and I rewarded myself by watching this game.

I just love the pain I guess.

I probably walk about 60k a week between the fridge and my chair though.

I see some have similar feelings to me watching the Canada game. Felt a lot like watching the Oilers. On offense they looked like they wanted to pass the puck into the net. And looked like everyone was waiting for Conner to get them back into the game. Defense couldn’t defence. Unreliable goaltending. Czech ‘s took it to them with a more mature and responsible game.
