One day, people will understand that SHL teams don’t list their lines with a traditional 1-through-4 system.
One day.
I was previously aware they don't list the lines with a traditional 1-through-4. Is there any rhyme or reason to how they are listed? If not - why not?

Good luck. I've been waiting half a life time for people to figure that out about college hockey too. No dice.
No, but you may remember when College Hockey News posted the lines in order on the box score. That was a good way to see where player X was in the lineup if you didn't have media coverage. That'd be pretty cool if they brought that back.

We'll have to convene for FF picks later in life.

Before I've seen him between 40 and#61, but now he plays with different guys , anyway he has 0 points in last 5 games, just wondering why

Wallinder, Edvinsson, Johansson, Sebrango, Viro, Buium someone has to pan out as a 3rd / 4th D guy, right?

That right side is looking much slimmer, are there any prospects in the later 1st round, 2nd round in the upcoming draft that would be worth looking into at RHD?

I like Beau Akey out of the OHL. I also like Donovon Mccoy as a later round, developmental pick out of the OHL.

Out of the USHL - Gavin McCarthy is having a nice season and not getting any 1st round hype. Similar story with Max Strbak. Gennadi Chaly is an interesting later round guy in the USHL to me. Russian kid going the NCAA route.

As I've said before though, I don't think RD is that big of a need given the age of Hronek/Seider and the amount of minutes those 2 log for us. So I don't know I would invest an early pick in that spot unless there was really a player available that is too enticing to pass up. Although I guess we do have two 2nd round picks?

I agree, it's not an immediate need. Prospects do take some time, though. Drafting someone now might mean he's good in 5 years, when Hronek might be on the cusp of his downward trajectory (this sounds over-dramatic, but you knwo what I mean haha).

I'll keep an eye on these two prospects you mentionned, thanks!

Buium - he's far off, he's more mountain man than NHLer
Viro - was never very promising, only guy who's ceiling is somehow below his floor
Sebrango - plays in some obscure league now with terrible goalies, he gone
Johansson - came to NA and was like, I'm Mattias Backman now, bye
Edvinsson - came to NA and was like, I'm Xavier Ouellet now
Wallinder - can't play defense, no tool box, might be Jakub Kindl

I'm more concerned about LHD in the system than RHD. We have a Calder winner and a nominee for the Norris this year on the right side, both young, we're good there.

I hope that last sentence means what I think it does... :naughty:

I felt like I hadn't upset the apple cart with my skeptical takes on our prospects enough lately, just trying to rectify that. Mobs? Bring 'em!

And for good measure, yes, I'm trying to get @OgeeOgelthorpe's head to explode with that last sentence.

But why? After 2 years in GR and a solid WJC in August they throw him in the trash? I don't get that.

There is an over abundance of LD in Grand Rapids. I’d love if they could play all our rookies but they won’t do that. GR has some vets that need ice.

One day.

How do they then? Not arguing or disagreeing, just a legit question. They just list who is playing with no order?

We don't talk no more about Mastrosemone, but he is currently 21 and leads his team with points, 24 after 22 games, leads next guy by 7 points .

Hard to get to excited given he might not be ours for much longer.

Not to mention, being just above a ppg as a 4th year 22 year old college player doesnt scream top 6er. And he lacks the size to transition his game. Mazur, for example, is basically putting up close to the same points, at a year younger, and his game will be well suited to a 3rd or 4th line.

I don't know exactly why, but yeah don't look at how the teams are listed. Kasper had the most icetime of any forwards the last game, so he's obviously not a 4th liner. Obviously you can look at linemates and such and make some conclusions, but most SHL teams spread out their scoring rather than load everything up in top 6 vs. bottom 6 as is often the case in the NHL.

Edvinsson might have had some Seider-related overhype going into to this season, but it feels like the pendulum has swung the other way now. Dude is going to be a monster.
Wallinder is also fantastic and I have high confidence in him.

The hype is completely unrelated to Seider. I wouldn't be at all shocked if at the end of their careers Edvinsson is viewed as the better of the two. Pre-draft and as teenagers Ed was seen as a stronger prospect.

Once upon a time Pat Falloon was more highly regarded than Scott Niedermayer.

Nobody is going to give a shit about their draft position or how they were rated pre draft.
