Another prospect was in the video. O'Reilly scored on Gylander
Yeah, but that's because he is a 40 year old playing against college kids Well, at least that's the new narrative amongst the detractors who no longer have the excuse he's leeching off his line mates.Don’t look now, but Mazur has 4g in 3 games
But just think of all the money saved with him going directly from an NHL ELC to an AARP pension.Yeah, but that's because he is a 40 year old playing against college kids Well, at least that's the new narrative amongst the detractors who no longer have the excuse he's leetching off his line mates.
I want my D-1 Bednar back... People legit had him touting as a 1st round talent before his draft year.Gylander is off to a solid start, 30-save shutout last night. Also 2.01 GAA & 92.7% despite a 1-3 record.
Bednar on the other hand ... not so much. 8 games, 4.59, 86.8%. 6 goals allowed in both games this weekend.
Bednar needs to find a way to get on a team where he can develop and not be asked to be a miracle worker.I want my D-1 Bednar back... People legit had him touting as a 1st round talent before his draft year.
Dude can't help that he plays for one of the worst defense cores in the QJMHL...
I thought NHL was already using the "smart puck" technology from other provider? At least there was some plans some years ago.I posted a thread on the "By the numbers" area about the Finnish Liiga using the "new" tracking technology for all stats and i would love to hear your guys takes on the subject. And the possibility (matter of time tbh) NHL using this kind of methods for stats. And the questions i had if this (for example the lower SV% for goalies) will affect the Finnish players draft numbers.
If "advertising" my own thread is against the rules, or considered scummy let me know and i'll just delete the post. I really dont care about likes or stuff like that, just would like to hear opinions etc. and couldn't think of a better topic on Wings area to post this.
I know we only have 2 prospects thay play in the Liiga currently in Tuomisto and Kotkansalo, but yeah here goes...
New way of acquiring stats in Liiga, Finland
These days all stats in Finland are provided by Wisehockey, that uses the new tracking technology. Chip in the puck etc. I was wondering how this will affect the NHL Draft numbers of Finnish players and/or other leagues interest in the long run, if it even will. A copypaste of a post i just...forums.hfboards.com
Edit: I know my English isnt great and if something doesn't make sense in that long post, let me know.
Another LHD to be reckoned with soon.Buium with 3 assists last night
Mazur didn’t get any points but looked really impressive in the bits I saw. Love his gameBuium with 3 assists last night
Heheh, i live 2kilometers (why are you talking about miles, cmon my man) from the office. And i have not applied for a job and never will. I don't think they are interested on the actual stats part, they just provide the tracking technology and raw stats. It's on Liiga and/or teams to do the deeper dive on the data they get, And, the way i see it is you can't get reliable stats from them, unless you have a human confirming it.I thought NHL was already using the "smart puck" technology from other provider? Personally I "hate" the smart puck technology because they say it will beat the human eye. It won't. But together it would be a killer tool.
Btw, I live 5miles away from the Wisehockey office and was on the job interview for them once. Tried to sell this eye-test implemention idea for them but they weren't intested. Don't understand why? That arrogance was a bit odd.
Still they can't build a perfect xGoals model based on that data if you don't do eye-test correction, like was the screener really screening the goalie or not. They could have sensors on gear but still goalie could just see over the screening player etc.
And no, that is not the case, players claimed they can feel the difference with a puck with the chip inside versus a one which doesn't have it. And on this im gonna call bullshit, and say that they should've done a blind test with pucks with and without it.I thought NHL was already using the "smart puck" technology from other provider? Nice to see the offense he's producing this year. Would love to hear from someone watching the games how his defense looks, that's the main concern with him IIRC.Buium with 3 assists last night
I think puck moving and mobility are his main skillsNice to see the offense he's producing this year. Would love to hear from someone watching the games how his defense looks, that's the main concern with him IIRC.
Mazur with a goal and assist so far for Denver. I see he's listed as a C on the box score? Is that a mistake?
