Silly question, but is Detroit able to sign Magnus Chrona at the end of the year?

Magnus Chrona at eliteprospects.com

Still not signed by the Sharks.
There is a cut-off date to sign college players after their college career ends, and if it goes beyond that date they become UFA. I think it's in August but could be wrong. Yzerman drafted him, by the way.

San Jose should hold his rights until this summer. I can't remember the exact date. After that he is a UFA

Berggren with 2 power play goals today. Hanas also had a goal. How about an all-rookie line of Berggren-Kasper-Mazur next year?

I'm pretty surprised with the early dividends from Hannas even though I'm higher on him as a prospect then many posters here. I thought he would have a brutal transition this year.
Im pretty excited for him. First year pro and he looks competent out there for sure. Its not like his goals have just been lucky bounces and tap ins. He's letting it rip. And for all this complaining about his skating, he certainly keeps up well for a 20 year old AHL rookie. He can keep working on it, see how he does.

I haven't been watching the interviews or anything lately. I'm sure the media has had to ask about Berggren. If so I would be curious to here what their response indicated.

Just crazy to me that they won't atleast give him a couple games.
