Zito with the insurance goal

Game 7 in the OHL Finals on Wednesday

Needs to work on that stride....but good to see him contributing! Would be cool to get a chance to see him in the memorial cup (as long as the NHL network carries it like they used to)

Some numbers for Zito this season

Good find.

I’ve watched some of the last few OHL finals games.
And while he has made some standout plays(3 game point streak), like his goal in game 6 and assist in game 4.

He doesn’t quite seem to have his normal standout energy and drive coming off the facial injury. I noticed Zito was removed from the top line in game 6 before he scored that goal.

Will be interesting to see if he is back playing with Wyatt and Cullye for game 7.

[unrelated note…. Watching this series is hilarious. Johnston, MacTavish, Cullye and Morrison are sooo much better than everyone else. They are dominant, even in the final its very apparent they are on a different level]

I keep getting Devan Dubnyk vibes from Cossa, but the good Dubnyk in Minnesota, not in Edmonton.

6'6'' mountain of a man, played well in the WHL, played for the World Juniors, Dubnyk was drafted 15th overall, Cossa was drafted 14th.

Eh...I'd rather get Ben Bishop or Luongo out of Cossa. Dubnyk was overrated AF in Minnesota.

I agree, but Luongo was 6'3'' and Bishop, while closer to Cossa's size, played NCAA in Maine and not junior. It's all semantics, I know, but I was trying to fit him in my narrative haha

I just looked it up and you're right. For some reason I thought Luongo was 6'5" or taller. He always just seemed monstrous in net.

For what it's worth, watching Cossa play reminds me more of Luongo than the likes of Bishop and other big goalies that tend to sit back in the net. They have a similar athletic profile.

Memorial Cup starts today, but Edmonton doesn’t play until tomorrow. It sounds like Guenther will miss the tournament with an injury, so Cossa will really need to step up.

31 Saves for Cossa in a 4-3 Defeat in Edmonton’s first game of the Memorial Cup… Probably a couple goals he might want back but he made several great saves.

Their 2nd game is tomorrow at 6
