I have no clue what wally pipped is, but I know one of the complaints is that Wallstedt isn't playing in the postseason. Lulea went with the more experienced goalie in the playoffs and that's it. That doesn't change the fact that Wallstedt had a good year.
It means he got injured and the backup took over (wallstedt lost his job) and never looked back

Wallstedt is way too high, as is Cossa. But I wouldn't mix skaters and goalies in a ranking to begin with.

Also, Clang shouldn't be far behind Wallstedt.

Yeah in general I think the list is pretty generous to goalies.

I'd be surprised to see any NHL GM trade a guy like Clarke, Hughes, or McTavish for Wallstedt in a 1 for 1 deal with the D+1 seasons those guys just provided.

What a stupid idea to say that Sanderson is a player they are sold on and edvinsson isn’t when edvinsson has been playing in a men’s league and having one of the best seasons there has been ever for an 18 year old. If you aren’t sold on edvinsson you shouldn’t be sold on Sanderson.

I hear where you're coming from, but I can see the logic to their evaluation. With Sanderson you have now two years of excellent play at even strength and both special teams for a really good NCAA program. Plus he was quite good in USA's gold medal run last WJC. Sure the NCAA is a lower degree of competition than the SHL, but it's still a great developmental league and players with Sanderson's NCAA resume generally turn out quite well.

Edvinsson is playing in a professional league, but unfortunately for us that's also meant he hasn't gotten the powerplay reps in, which I think leaves a fair question mark in evaluating a top prospect list. I think it's a real shame that we didn't get to see him at the WJC this year - a strong offensive showing might've convinced people on the fence of his well-roundedness.

There is a definite bias for North American players over Europeans. Until they make it state side and can prove their worth, they will always rank them lower. Look how long it has taken to appreciate Seider, yet they still see
Chabot as better....really.

I feel like he's having a hard time adapting to NA ice, as many Swedes do. While his point total is pretty good, being a -23 is pretty brutal for a center.

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

He’s been if not the best forward on Grand Rapids then he’s been top 3. And he’s a winger, not center.

That mega minus isn’t a bullshit “soft euro can’t play NA hockey” problem. It’s because he’s an offensive scoring winger on one of the worst AHL teams in the league.

Berggren isn’t great on defense but nobody on that team is, either. Even the guys who are supposed to be.

Lol, little harsh.

Gotta be honest though, last time I checked on the Griffins, they were still in playoff contention so I was pretty surprised they’ve fallen so out of it. Guess now I’m confused why so many reporters were asking Stevie if they would send down Veleno/Hirose/etc so they could play in the playoffs.

A couple other teams need to go on a losing streak while the griffins need to go on a winning streak. That the team is still a maybe for the AHL playoffs is a miracle.

They’ve been subpar in their end all year. I try to catch a griffins game when I can but it’s painfully bad to watch more often than not.
