I can see that but concerned on spending too much to get them when it is only a 3rd line upgrade. Need to make a splash on an 05 D that will return.
Sure but I prices are high for D. There are twice as many forwards in the league than defense. We have been talking about D for a year. It's only been Mathurin and Hicks brought in. We already saw what a guy like Allen cost. Spits aren't flush with assets. Gibson costs too much. Smith would be a lateral move in the sense you have to move someone out. Can you really do that and put more responsibility on Martin/Garden/Lemieux/Outwater/Gaymes? I'm not going to disagree just don't see how you get that D.

The price maybe slightly cheaper now if other contenders back off a bit based on the Knights roster making a run. The price is not going to be much cheaper come Sept when we know we will need 2 OA'S and import help. If Protas returns great but we will still have a low draft pick late in the import 1st round based on this year's season placing. 50 or worse so second import will cost to fill with quality player in so called run year. A returning D would help this year and obviously next year. Maybe Bowler has a 1-2 US bound or USHL player willing to sign as a free agent.

Well no names but rumor has Bowler talking to Sudbury and Guelph. Early in the year Bowler had shown interest in DeAngelis but not sure if that is what he is still talking about.
Wondering out loud what a Musty DeAngelis deal would look like going back?
If talking to Sudbury I hope it’s a deal for KW. His size and skill would be a nice fit with Windsor’s big forward group. And reunite him with his brother. Price would be high but would fit perfectly.

I’ve thought about that a lot as well. He’d be a big add up front, and I’d have to imagine he’d like the opportunity to come here.

You don’t have enough assets for 1.5yrs of KW. Maybe next year at this time if we are in a re-build draft well in 09 and save your picks…

If something were to occur between these two teams involving Musty and DeAngelis the return will need to include Nesbitt, Davis and Walton. Sudbury could include Bruce in the deal as well. That will be the starting point of a conversation. If not then hang up the phone Paps.

Bowler would be booed out of town if he pulled that.

Well he did make the deal for Wright? How did he remain in town after that?

WJ

That was one player who was, consensus, struggling a bit to find his game, along with the rights to a player, plus 2nd, 3rd, two 4ths, 6th, and conditional 5th/6th. It was not that difficult to swallow.

A few thoughts...

- Windsor's had multiple games where they should have won, but lost. Today was one they should have lost, but won. Take the two points.
- A respectable start and I call it that because, despite being up 5-0, they only had 10 shots or something in the first. Bender and the Flint D were poor, which was a big help.
- The Greentree, Protas, Belchetz line was solid. A combined 3G/6A, hard to complain about that.
- I believe every line had at a least one point; that depth is showing again. Nice opening goal from Garden. Lemieux had a great game, too.
- Costanzo was his normal rock-solid self.
- They lacked energy in the second and third; sluggish, not making the passes, not getting pucks on the goal. It was the little things that added up to Flint taking advantage.
- Greentree with another tilt, a rather good one at that. He now has two (2) on the season.
- Call this an "escape" but one that comes with two points.
- Windsor now has a 20-point lead on Saginaw for the division.

As for the deadline... not a ton of talk about it beyond what we've seen here. Niagara might be one team to think about but I'm not sure to what extent. Paquette was brought up from Guelph; would fit the mold. The prices sound high and not sure Bowler's willing.

Miedema was 4th overall pick stands at 6'4 conditions were placed in the event McCarthy didn't report.

Musty is a 1st overall pick and is incredibly offensive. DeAngelis is a top PP guy and has played outstanding for us. You know what you're getting with those two. You can't get them for nothing or just picks. Tell me who you would include in a deal for those two?

Miedema was the fourth overall pick in a guessing-game draft due to COVID-19. He's talented, no question, but he was very inconsistent in his play and wasn't getting the best reviews on here.

I know there were conditional picks but I'm not sure which were tied to Wright v. McCarthy.

Who would I give up for Musty/DeAngelis? Nesbitt, Manzo, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th. Windsor has extras of all of those (minus the 6th) from now through 2027. With that said, I don't think that's Windsor's ideal trade because it focuses on this season and gives up a ton of assets that could be used next season.

We were lucky today with a soft goalie in the first period jumping a 5-0 lead. Day starts we could have been shutout. 15 shots joey was the star. Flint was the better team overall. Yes, I'll gladly take the 2 points. Thank you. But, when it counted, if AC takes the body in front of the net for once, Flint has no 4th goal. Yes, he's better this year but what really got me worked up was during Flints timeout with the score 5-4, Walters was drawing a play up on the board and everyone was clearly focused on the play being drawn up except 1. 44. WTF. Looking towards center ice. I guess he's knows the plays before it is drawn up. That is the lack of focus that will lose you playoff hockey. Mark it down. It wasn't only 44 tonight, but when the game was in crunch time that stood out as being ignorant towards the coaching staff.

Just soft player on defense constantly..

First period was pretty nice. The next 2 may be the worst ive seen this year!! Totally deserved a loss. Staff needs to do more between periods imho. Totally flat to start 2nd and nothing got them rolling again. Thats a lesson that should have been learned already.. 9 shots in first and only 6 more the rest of the game?!?! Those guys should be embarrassed!!! Id have no trouble moving anyone after that effort.
Ok on a side note, one of my sources heard a big name from windsor that could be available. Someone no one could predict, but thoughts are change of scenery or possibly a request for trade. No im not naming him. Might get really interesting!!!

I've mentioned Abraham before and maybe add Eichler to the "he seems disengaged" list; today was not his most focused outing. Seemed to be shying away from the rough stuff, which is not like him at all. Beyond that... most of the bigger names seem content like Greentree, Spellacy, Davis, Cristoforo, Mathurin, Morneau, Nesbitt, etc.

On a similar note - sounds like Brampton is waiting on something before they pull the trigger on a Konnor deal. It feels inevitable at this point.

With it being January 1, we're going to see moves being pulled as 08 first rounders can now be traded.

With the wjt players still in a trade freeze ( although that might end sooner than expected) some of the 08 moves will have to wait.

Windsor squeeked a wn.
Played maybe 20 minutes out of 60.
Top line was playing well for awhile.
Joey played decent.
Defense was soft n terrible again. Sharmin leading culprit. Though doesn't give others an excuse.
Pp is awful.
Full crowd. Though they probably fell asleep for most of the game. Not a good impression.
Onto Guelph who Windsor should best also. If they show up for more than 20 minutes is anybody guess.

Not sure who from Windsor you would be wondering about as I looked at all the teams rosters and players from Windsor and surrounding area ie Essex,Belle River, Tecumseh or Lakeshore, only ones I can up with is Spencer Sova dman from Erie traded to Brampton from Erie,an OA,already traded from Erie earlier and his current team is tied for 7th and 8th,other then him, perhaps Charlie Paquette from Essex Not a big name, but a solid player ,an 05 with OA next year possibilities.
I know u are not talking about Smith or Gibson as both have been brought up alot.
