It gets worse for Howie.

It gets even better for us though.

This is so poetic.

He had gotten word from Jeff Lurie, the owner, to get Graham out of there because Graham had said there were some issues, he acknowledged there was a little bit of a problem between A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts. Get him out, he said too much already, get him out of the building. Howard was just trying to follow the instructions of the owner of the Eagles, Jeff Lurie. That’s how the whole thing evolved… he grabbed her by the arm, not to hurt her, not in a menacing way, just in a frustrated (way). She said ‘don’t touch me’ and he touched her again. That’s what set the whole thing into motion. That’s why ultimately, it took 11 days, they came to an agreement that he would resign. That’s what actually happened. I was not the witness that day but heard it five times from people in 11 days and the Inquirer couldn’t get the story.”

He was practically crying while saying that. The opportunity will never be there for him again, it's a piece of not just eagles, but NFL history to go down as the greatest ever. It matters.

And it will be a reason for issues later on if they don't win the Superbowl. Even moreso if we are watching a Kenny Pickett led team in the first round and get bounced.

I’m historically on the players’ side in every labor negotiation and things like that. If Barkley really has a major problem with this, he can go play for someone else. This is not one of those cliched situations. It really is putting yourself before the team. You can’t even just throw Barkley out there. You need 101 Yards. It’s the entire offense.

Of course I understand part of him wanting to do it. That’s human nature. But he’ll move forward like a functional adult. Seems like a pretty grounded guy.

Being the first RB to win Superbowl MVP in 25 years will soothe him.

100%. I get it for Barkley, and the o-line to some extent, from a personal perspective. But did anyone really give 2 shits about the NFL rushing record, like 3 months ago? And now suddenly it's an important thing, or even somehow tarnishes Barkley's season to not get it.

Dude's got 370+ touches and hasn't had a bye since week 5. Half the o-line hasn't practiced for a full week in probably over a month due to a combination of needing rest and injury. There was never a chance of Hurts, AJ, or Smith playing, so with no weapons and a 2nd string line, it might have taken Barkley 30 carries to get the yardage. And it's beyond stupid to play the starting line.

I know it doesn't guarantee a long playoff run, but even a 5% better chance is worth the rest. Not that I believe for a second Barkley actually feels slighted, but if he does, the chance to get a ring and Superbowl MVP to go along with his eventual OPOY should be enough motivation.

I also think it's a little funny that Sirianni, who gets into shouting matches with his own team's fans, needs to be separated from his players on the sideline by the dline coach, had to be separated from a former player/ team legend at the end of a game, and has to have a full time baby-sitter with him at all times, finally made an adult decision and is getting shit on for it.

Legacy matters. Prestige matters. Going for the record does not mean the Eagles can't win the Superbowl, and does not mean that Saquon will definitely get hurt. Those things aren't tied to one another. Does it have risk? Sure. Everything does, he could get hurt in the weight room or walking to Wawa.

Bill Belichick let a 30 year old Moss go for single season NFL record for receiving TD's and Brady go for NFL record Passing TDs in 07, when they were 15-0.

This shit is Loser mentality. Fear based logic.

AND it makes even less sense with their QB still in concussion protocol for the last 2 weeks
