I guess it depends on when you consider "the off-season" to have ended and "this season" to have started. For me, it's when the players arrive at training camp. For others, it could be opening night.

Regardless, he was an outstanding get and Bowler has lots of room to make more moves. Whether that's six, seven, or 47, it's still a lot.
"Shrugs"
I don't see Bowler using thst many cards on a year they aren't going for it.

My post was meant to state that Windsor has made no acquisitions or free agent signings since the season began other then players already in organization in other words callups-ie Newlove,Windbiel,Lavigne.
I agree Mathurin has been an excellent get by Bowler.
He is a +17 third highest on the D.
Christoforo is the #1 at 34 Walton is a pleasant surprise at +20 for 2nd best on the D.

Were they in on any of the players who committed/ or could committ to OHL teams as FAs with the new flexibility players have in terms of NCAA eligibility? Like Pridham, Montgomery, Fimis ect......
Any of their recent draft picks a possibility to join the squad before a roster freeze with the new rules?
Seems a great way to add to any team with a cost going either route.

It's little bits and pieces that you get the feeling will go "kaboom" out of nowhere.

One name someone mentioned to me today that I hadn't thought about... as an option for next season... Charlie Paquette. Guelph is rebuilding and he's an 05 with grit/offence. Just a name to discuss, nothing more.

The name I've brought up a few times is Easton Pace, their 7th rounder from 2023. He did the Little Caesars U16 thing, then USNTDP for a very short bit before going to Tri-City USHL. He's also Colorado College committed for 26-27. Has one assist in four games with TC and played as recently as Saturday.

Could be a 2 yr unexoected add then. Would help for sure if he could be a mid 6 F.

I think it'll be a couple year window where teams can use this as a big advantage if they can get some FAs in the mix by selling your org to them as a 1/2 yr option. Some already have. Any idea if Windsor has someone in mind or working on.

I'm impressed with Windsor, London and Kitchener ! Competitive teams, ownership and management cares. It really shows !

I think one of the biggest issues with fans is that the previous ownership/management group was very outspoken, very public, very chatty. This group isn't, at all, and it's an adjustment. I can count on two hands the number of times I've seen the Spitfires' owners and I might have fingers left. They're nice guys and I've heard nothing but good from the players/families but... very behind-the-scenes.

Any idea on names the Spits might be targeting?

So far according to this chat potential targets are

Forwards:
Cooper Foster
Jack Dever
Charlie Paquette
Jett Luchanko

Defense:
Andrew Gibson
Kolton Smith
Mitch Young
Lukas Fischer

I’m curious to know if anyone else’s name has been thrown around. Thanks for any info and happy holidays :)

I just checked the WFCU Centre website for tickets (curious)... and it appears to be sold out tomorrow. There are *zero* seats listed as available. Nothing. I'm surprised and impressed.
Tickets for Christmas and a hockey tournament fills seats up..

Well no names but rumor has Bowler talking to Sudbury and Guelph. Early in the year Bowler had shown interest in DeAngelis but not sure if that is what he is still talking about.
Wondering out loud what a Musty DeAngelis deal would look like going back?

Lol those are enough names. Theres more but its such iffy info theres no sense adding. Players read this site adding to their concerns doesnt help this time of year.

I would imagine Nesbitt and Manzo to start, plus a bunch of picks.

I know you have to give to get but for me Nesbitt is off the table. I think at the end of the day I would rather stand pat then sacrifice players that will be big contributers next year. Maybe why they are talking to Ottawa now as the cost might be more pick based?

I don't want to give up Nesbitt if the player isn't returning next season.
