Yours.

76 points for the players moved out. 33 points for the players moved in. Windsor got younger, and got picks out of the deal.

Windsor already sold big time. They don't need to move anyone else to be a seller.
Lots of dead wood still..

Here is a list of possible players that might be available in trade or placed on waivers…..….

O/A…….PEER…… MANCINI…… MAILLET…….
2004….MORNEAU….ABRAHAM…..ZHUGIN(IMP)
STRUTHERS..SMITH……CASTLE
TOMS…..MICHELONE…………………
( 3 O/A )…….
( 8 potential O/A next year )…………

Some moves would be limited by the number of cards available for incoming players……

I could see 3 or 4 of those players moved at or near the deadline of the 11 you posted.
Castle,Struthers, perhaps Michelone and /or Toms.
Pretty sure Windsor has 4 cards to play with,3 at least.
Will be interesting to see if Peer or Maillet is moved don't see both but could see one.
Will certainly depend on what the offers are,if underwhelming don't do it.

Earlier , a couple of days ago I wrote about organizational depth re goalies and dmem in the system outside the main roster.
Dealing now with the forwards position.
It's an area that Windsor will be fortifying in the upcoming drafts especially with an expected high 1st round picks in all 3 drafts, plus 2-2nds draft picks in the upcoming drafts including Niagara 's acquired in a trade which should be in the 25 or so.
In the system here are some players that have caught my attention at the forward position.
Nathan Gaymes-RW-(17) having a solid rookie season with the Vipers, showed something at Spits training camp GP-25,G-12,A10,22 Pts.,37 Pim.Agressive, tough,I expect him to challenge for a spot despite being a 15th rounder.
Julian Gignac-LW-(16),14th round pick,1st cousin of Spits forward Noah Morneau, and on his dad's side his father played major junior Chris Gignac and European hockey too,is playing currently playing for the Lakeshore Canadiens ,only 16 year-old there leads team in goals,GP-20G,A-13,33 Pts-26Pim,only reason he is in C,is because Windsor have 2-16 year old dmen playing in LA Salle,Manzo and Lavigne.I fully expect for him to compete for a job with Windsor next season.
Maxime Morin-Cen-(16),was pretty impressed with him at camp this past fall, currently playing for U18 team,21GP,9G,10A,19 Pts,18 Pims, plays a solid heads up game both ways with some jam despite not being big at 5'9"-150 lbs,I see him contending for a spot on Windsor next year.
Kyle Butt-RW-(16),also playing U18 hockey, missed camp because because of knee surgery but was here, 21GP,5G,10A,15 Pts, 30 Pims,is pretty aggressive from what I hear, another guy who will interesting at next year's camp.
Marcus Laguna-16,RW, looked good at camp much like Morin, have not found where he is playing, hearing Spits are high on him so his upcoming camp will be interesting to see.
Other players both 05 born wingers Kyler Morgan and Adriano Tonin both decent guys,Morgan signed by the way are playing Jr B this year,Morgan 24GP-8G,8A,16 Pts,28 Pims, and Tonin with LA Salle 25GP,10G,13A,23,Pts,18 Pims, both have decent size and will hit, could 1 filling a bottom 6 role moving forward.

Now there are 3 forwards currently playing with LA Salle that have caught my eye, free agents,2-17 year olds and 1-18 year old

Cen,Owen Pitters -(18) played parts of 2 years with Flint, gritty former 4th rounder,23GP-9G,10A,50 Pims, American born could see him up this seqson if players are moved out.
Jak Thiessen -LW-(17) decent size, local kid can score 20GP-11G,2A,13 Pts,8 Pims, like I said possible freely will be interesting what Windsor does with him.l
Last player another potential free agent
Cen-Connor Chartrand-(17)23GP-5G,9A,14 Pts,small 5'7-160 fast but can play, did attend Oshawa's camp, local kid,did not sign with them will be interesting to see moving forward.
Finally while I think there is some definite potential with the forward group no doubt Spits will add to it with some of their picks in the upcoming 3 drafts.

Pitters is capable of being an OHL regular and contributing. I’ve heard good things about him as person from local youth coaches too. Flint made a mistake in releasing him and I’m sure he would be producing more than 19yo Import Markus Samenas if not a few others. I’d love to see him get another shot at the O and prove he deserved a spot.

Intriguing tidbit about Kyle Butt - if memory serves me correctly, the last 12th round pick to play at least one game for the Spitfires was G Ryan Dickie in 2002-03. They've had numerous 12th rounders since then but no success.

Trusting the Newbury hire comes with due diligence. He was a veteran on the 02-03 Sarnia Sting team that had hazing issues. Not stirring the pot, just curious about this.

That doesn't look like a great crop to be honest. Yes to Manzo but there are question marks abound elsewhere. Pitters is a name but Bowler valued Struthers more. Pitters turns 19 next year. This is more about Bowler and "trust the GM" crowd. In regards to goalie still really no movement in regards to trying to develop one. I get that Bowler is desperate and they're trying to make the playoffs but that isn't the path to success.

I am guessing that prior to accepting Windsor's job offer to be an assistant coach he was vetted as he has been involved coaching U15,U16 teams and Trenton Hawks of the OJHL the past 2 seasons including this one.
I have zero concerns.

Right, you're one of the worst teams in the league and numerous players have killed their value. Nobody is banging down the door for your players.

This is literally the only place I've seen that it's been brought up, plus Newbury's been in multiple organizations and levels since that time with zero issue. Let's not make a mountain of out a speck of dust that can easily be blown away.
That is known of...

If you have a link or two that specifically discusses how those actions have continued through his coaching in the last several seasons, thus creating a situation that the Spitfires should be worried about in the present time, please post them below. I haven't heard a peep but, if you have credible evidence, by all means, let's see it.

Otherwise, it's just pot stirring and/or looking for something that's not there.

First of all Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everybody and their families. Hope everyone enjoyed a safe and happy holidays.

Now back to Spitfires talk.... Hope these boys enjoyed some time off, relaxed their minds and are ready to bring it in the second half. Overall better showings since the coaching change. Now we need to see more of that and even more if the spits are to have any chance of sneaking into a playoff spot.

Hope the new coaching hire brings an alternative approach and vision, always good to have different perspectives to bounce ideas off of, wont judge to much until we see what he brings. Hopefully more defensively structured coach.

Should be a tough battle tonight. Hope to see a good game tonight and a strong compete level. Reliable goaltending is needed.

Go Spits Go!!👍

It’s early in the day but so far no one has made mention of the Spitfire roster for tonight’s game in Missy. They were expected to practice yesterday. Perhaps no prying 👀 ‘s were in attendance. Or those who were are not saying who’s absent or AWOL. IF I remember correctly the few games remaining until the 9th are against teams that are not highly ranked , perhaps if the Spits win a few it might make the deadline more interesting.

Rosters aren't usually announced until a couple of hours(ish) before a game. I'd start looking around 4pm. I'm also not going to take a ton of stock into who was at practice yesterday because we know Bowler doesn't have the best timing on making deals.
