If the price isn't right, Bowler doesn't need to do anything. He's already made three bigger deals so far (not including Toms) and there's no dire need to give up an OA or an 04 if the price isn't where he wants it.

Yes a deal has to be worth it but only Bowler can decide what is worth it for the Spits. They need enough bodies to fill out the locker room and with only a few cards left not everyone gets to move on.

what is struthers worth?

Right now, not a lot. I get it, I was on the Struthers train at the start of the season. Judging by what I saw in camp, I stand by what I said. He has speed, was creating offensively, and was a pure agitator in camp, would have been a solid addition if he had ice time. However, he's had fourth line duty or healthy scratch for much of the season, for whatever reason. His value is maybe a mid-round pick at best right now. I was incorrect about what would happen but that doesn't mean I didn't see potential in him (still do).

Which part do you disagree with?

i get you need to see the best in everyone, but its not the first time where your looking for something thats not there. sometimes a filler player is just a filler player. theres nothing wrong with that,

It's not a matter of seeing the best in everyone, necessarily. There have been players that made the team that made me scratch my head over the years. I just know what I saw in Struthers and figured this was a kid who had the potential to be another fairly solid FA signing. Was I wrong? Yep. (Though, I'd still be intrigued by what he could do with full ice time)

You probably should hold off when a new kid arrives. You made those comments in pre-season when he looked good against rookies and junior B players. Your not the only one that does that.

but after all the guys that youve seen things in that have not turned out, at some point you need to be self aware and say 'im wrong more then im right, so lets not assume he will be more then just a guy' (its not just you buy the way, im wrong alot too, i just dont run to post my thoughts until i know for sure one way or another).

if you remember, almost everyone was telling you the comparison to peer was unfair because struthers was cut by two other teams where as peer was a pure free agent. you fraught us all, for the 5th or 6th time.

i think you really really want to see the best, instead of just seeing what actually is.

especially when the kid was cut by two other teams, it was as predicted, another latta or mizzi.

this is kind of what im getting at, we dont need to make the kid into something before he proves it first. lets just let the kid play without comparing him to someone higher end.

Right now, since he hasn’t been given any kind of a shot on the worst team in the OHL he will be lucky to get placed on waivers. If he is lucky enough to escape this mess he might get a chance to play elsewhere.
just being a bit sarcastic. next year i hope that guys like greenwall and martin are no longer around and they have younger more talented guys in the lineup. this year i totally get it, they needed a year to take the hit and allow the kids to develop, but next year they should have better 16/17year olds.

Rumor is that 3 teams have inquired about Oliver Peer, who is listed 14th in OHL scoring with 22 points.
Mississauga, 1 unknown team, and wait for it,, London.
Rumour is McKinnon an OA dman is out for the season so OA spot opens up.

Teams won't need him to play any defense..

Well I never heard those names but I'm sure every contender will at least do a drive by if the ask is reasonable.

I’d say it’s Peer or Dubois to London. Not sure there are any better OAs available right now
