Not much to comment on as my IPTV let me down again. That being said from the comments read here and online it appears that Peer has been very quiet the last while or just not the center of attention. The team has played well in the last few games.

Don't agree.

I wasn't expecting you to. I know you hate him with a passion for some reason.

Eight points (4g 4a) in his last five games incl. a pair of helpers last night.

Defensively not well.
Offense fine.
Agree. Offense offset by horrible defensive play is an issue. Those that are blind to it are only fooling themselves. Toms even with the new coaching continues to slide now -29 with his experience is unforgiving. Winegard should be in over Toms every game. Others like Davis I will give him some room based on less experience. Smith, Cristoforo, and yes Peer minus numbers are not worthy of any praise defensively. Smith needs to be moved. Peer dealt for a good return. 74 should be reassigned to forward since his efforts are noticeable on offense and defesively zero physicality and pylon type effort around the net. Shot is sub par at best, small size and skating is average. Shot blocking is good, but lays down to block passes in an untimely and late pattern. I like the kid, not the play this year. Hope it cam turn around.

BOTTOM LINE….. I agree with most of the things you say. Things have improved since the coaching changes have been made but we sit in 19th place in a 20 team league. We have a chance to make the playoffs by standing pat or by trading a few players. What to do? Our next 2 games are with bottom dwellers and on the road. Perhaps we win one or two, but that changes nothing. For our future we need to fish or cut bait. IMHO our only course of action is to try to move our O/A and any players who won’t be in our O/A plans next year. Some folks will be surprised with the return and not happy to see some put on waivers. Best of luck to those who move on.

Yes I know I don't get it both ways but picking anywhere this year in the top 5 is not going to have any impact on a rebuild.
It could within 2 years. They need to get a GS with this pick. After seeing Nesbitt I have some concerns. It's not helping that coaching and management are valuing a playoff run though. Why is Martin getting so much more ice than Nesbitt?

Plus/ minus numbers can be misleading, examples Greentree 1st 21 games,-16,last 14 games after coaching change +10,Peer was -16,after coaching change +3,Maillet,-18 prior to change, last 14 games +10,Christoforo 1st 21 games -22,last 13 ,+3,Mancini was a -3 in his 1st 3 games with Windsor, then coaching change last 14 games ,+12 perfect partner with Christoforo.

Agree 💯. Move assets. We have only a few draft picks this year's draft and only Nesbitt in the line up currently from last years draft.

Where is he wrong, though? I'm not a huge plus-minus guy but, if you're going to use the Spitfires' totals, you might as well separate the season using the coaching changes as your marker.
SMH..

This year we have 14 picks including 2-2nds alot better then 11 from last year, including a 1st, then nothing to the 5th.
I do expect Manzo,Lavigne, Gignac, Morin and Butt from last year's draft to challenge or make the team next season.
Toss in Froggett(G),Evans(D),Gaymes,(F), from the same age class of Greentree,Christoforo, Walton, Davis,Woodall,Hjelholt, and the future is bright with something to build around.

Yeah, the draft cupboard isn't nearly as bad as it was last April. Five picks in the first four rounds, including darn near two 1sts... hard to complain about that. It'd be nice to get a 3rd, 5th, and a 6th, but I'm not going to sweat it if Bowler doesn't.

Spits are 3-0-2 in the last 5 games, with 3 of them on the road, and 6--2--2 in ther last 10,check the plus minus of the Dmen, the youngest corps in the league, 4 rookies, plus 17 year old Christoforo,
Mancini last 5 games +5,last 10,+9,Walton last 5 games 0,last 10 +6,Woodall,last 5 games +4,last 10,+5,Eichler last 5 games+1,last 10,+5,Christoforo last 5 games+1,last 10+1,Winegard last 5 games -4,last 10-4,Toms last 5 games-3,last 10 games-6.
While they are in 19th place overall they are trending up and have been far since the coaching change and I for one am looking forward to the future, especially after the next drafts (3) plus prospects in the system.

I'm looking forward to this weekend. Two fun rinks, two games where points should be attainable. As long as they keep playing solid road hockey, three points isn't an unreasonable ask. We'll see if Bowler has anything up his sleeves at the same time.

It would be wild if you finished in 8th seed and took out Kitchener in 4 😁

Karma couldnt be that acurate, could it?

Seriously, I am impressed with your younger players. Greentree, Spellacy, Christoforo, etc. They are learning fast. Good luck rest of the season.

Thank you for the stats. Saved me some time. Exactly why I say Winegard is in over Toms. Walton and Woodall developing excellently considering their ohl experience. Considering Cristoforo offensive production which helps offsets plus/minus, his minus is concerning considering especially with his games played experience compared to those other 2. Paired with Mancini who is excellent in his plus/minus confuses the situation even more. Seems to me to be a lack of focus and determination defensively. The kid can play so well and then look out to lunch. Hoping, hoping he gets a hold on it. Big pressure from the fans and draft year scouts. Trade him no, guide him to be better defensively yes. Fine line he needs to balance both ends. I have not lost hope.

Just dropping in to say the Spitfires are 8-4-2 since the coaching change. Winning record since trading Christopoulis and Dionicio. 4 points out of a playoff spot with a game in hand.

I see people referring to this as a mess all the time. It is really a mess? It's a rebuilding season after finishing 1st in the conference the last two seasons. This is not a mess in my view, it's a rebuilding, restocking season. Most of the young players are showing improvement recently.

Nobody was saying that in September though. Consensus was middle of the pack maybe fall off after the deadline. You can't just ignore the first 21 games. They're 19th out of 20 teams. It only became a rebuilding year after a horrific start. I am sure a lot of teams would like to ignore a terrible 8 or 10 game stretch but the Spits had one for 30% of the season.
