outwater has all the tools but soft and not that dynamic. interesting, lots of potentail years ago that he hasnt really found yet.
Lots of potential in his draft year playing with a stacked Oakville team and without body contact. He’s very underwhelming in all aspects. Great shot though. Gotta feel for the kid though. Goes from a top team to the basement one year and the same the next. If I’m not mistaken he didn’t get an invite to an NHL camp this fall. Rare for a first rounder.

Does anyone know if the lottery is weighted like the NHL, or is it just bottom two of each conference and just as they come out of the hat?

Dull as dishwater.
You must not of watched too many spitfires games this season being out East but Outwater has 62 points in just over two seasons of play in the O, still half his OHL career ahead. The Spitfires will take that risk. He Will automatically be more useful then 3 or 4 forwards on the spits. Hopefully for owen new scenery will change his game in a good way!

Hopefully a few more regulars get moved out before the deadline and we get a good haul of draft picks for this years draft!!, if anyone overpays or gives good value for Abraham, Smith, Castle, Malliet, Peer then I'd say take it. This team needs a new identity going forward into next season.

Agree re moving players such as Smith,Castle and Maillet.
Not so much on Abraham and Peer.
That being said Zhugin will wear #17,Mancini #53 and Outwater #93 when they play assuming all 3 are in for the game vs Owen Sound.

The last players to wear #17 were McLlwain, Larionov, and Stanley. For 93, it was Foudy. I don't think anyone has worn 53 since the late 90s, if at all.

I'm not sure if it's being held the same way but as of late it's been %25 chance for each team that misses the playoffs.

I personally hate it. Shouldn't be equal %. Some years teams will finish last by a considerable margin and end up picking 4th which I dislike

Agreed, the squad that places last should have a 50% chance to win the lottery. I think it's absurd to have a lottery for a draft in a developmental league. It's a cyclical league, having a lottery is dumb. To no surprise, two American teams have won the first two lotteries.

I did watch the Spits (sans Christopolous) put 5 by our goalie earlier in the year :D

How long before players just request trades to get out...
I expect that has already happened but you generally wouldn’t hear about it. If it leaks it would by through the player/family/agent and only if they felt the GM was dragging his heels. The team keeps mum feeling it would hurt their position when trying to make a deal. If what I read was correct that was the case in the last deal. At this point the 5 players mentioned in Legends last post would IMHO all want to be playing on better teams where their exposure to the scouts would improve.

I'd seriously consider moving Cristoforo. Dropping like a lead weight in the draft rankings. Whether it is attitude or effort issues deal while there is a return
Playing like he is either not happy in his situation or not capable to improve as expectations were high. Glad BB pulled the trigger. Dionicio was going anyways and get a good return. Off soon for a month WJC. No sense risking a injury while sitting on the fence to the deadline. Get the rest of yhe attitude players and dead wood out. Not saying Dionicio ir Christopoulis was in that group we know the players whom I'm referring too. I'm still convinced the Kingston aspect is fallout/promises over the Wright trade last year. Gentleman's handshake as they say.

Outwater could become a surprise. Ranked 31st of ohl players for the NHL draft last year. Speed rated well but lightweight for his tall frame if he can add some weight and muscle could be a significant late bloomer. Let's hope so. Hockey news thinks he will excel with the" offense minded spitfires " time will tell BUT not known to be physical and underutilized height

I still like Cristoforo, just think he’s possibly not being put in a position to utilize his talents properly. You’re not gonna put Brett Hull on the PK y’know? Outwater though? Doesn’t that sound just like Miedema? Except Miedema has more points on the same team and actually got NHL drafted.

I think Cristoforo has had ample quality ice to improve his game. Yes, he is not a PK player but why? He doesn't exhibit the speed and quick containment and zero physical presence. Feet standing still. The same reason his 5 on 5 has led him to his minus status. Last year mainly a 3-5 D position he got away with it. As a 1-2 D falls way short against top 6 forwards. Honestly appears to have little emotion this year. Ryan Ellis had a great shot, would stand up to anyone and played with grit. Something a smaller statured player requires in the NHL. He went first round and Greentree went 2nd round. Who has elevated their game and who has stagnated? No question. just saying maybe a new opportunity would benefit him. Nothing personal. Never said Outwater is better then Meidema. Just a lot of potential with him per NHL scouting reports. Potential is not results. Time will tell.

Last comment before puck drop should have kept Sobolev. Who doesn't miss those bone crunching body checks along the boards. Too late 1-0 Owen Sound. Wasn't that Cristoforo not moving anyone in front of the net- yesssss

I've got a novel idea. Take pylon Cristoforo and let him stand next to the goalie to help cover more net. Good news. Manzo gets a goal. Ends there.
