One wonders how many more picks u acquire for 2 high end guys if u don't bring on 2 fairly solid guys in return.

Obviously probably had to be done to make it happen, but two 2nds, 4th for a 50G man & arguably the top import Dman doesn't feel like a lot.

But better than nothing & should help begin the recoup process.
To trade an import and an OA you most likely are going to take one back in return unless someone has a spot open. When Saginaw traded Mintuykov last year, there were a few teams with open spots so there was a market for him...not sure what the case is around the league.

Windsor will enjoy Zhugin, he's an exciting player and I'm bummed that he's gone.

In fairness...he was dealing with a bum shoulder for most of last season, and came back this year and seemed hesitant. He's been stepping up lately and has gotten some good looks and a few points on the pp.

i remember when everyone on here was praising shankar as a great oa on a rebuilding team, he was not, but mancini is. he is the standard for a leader oa type. if he sticks around he is a very good vet

Sometimes, a change of scenery or an opportunity is all a kid needs. It worked with Christopoulos and Maillet.
kingston was the first change of scenery.

that reputation was before kingston and before shoulder issues.

Struthers as well
thats the problem with saying every player being a special project bound to turn it around vs a legit turn around option.

outwater at least has a case to make a turn around, struthers is just a warm body. outwater could. when you group them all together is becomes white noise and the statement loses value.

I’ll miss watching Dionicio, but glad to see those two get a crack at the Mem Cup. I don’t mind the return either.

My only guess with Outwater, is because of his lack of production, they’re assuming he’s an 05’ OA and hoping he just hits late. I don’t know if I love the cost of him, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a little of “we’ll get you back” for Wright on that deal.

And Owen Outwater apparently has had Spits assistant coach Torres as his skill coach for a number of seasons, thinking he had some impact of Outwater coming here.

Wright deal was a bad deal from the start by Bowler..

A little late to this one and really it's not like we didn't see this coming. Don't really think he is done yet. My count is 5 seconds in the bank and Bowler will use at least one this draft but thinking maybe 2. Both should be high seconds especially if the Pete's sell.
This season is what you see is what you get and as much as it is hard to swallow after 2 good years it's time to pay the Piper.

I'm personally giving up on worrying about wins and going to enjoy the development curve. Biggest concern here is coaching. That is a big question mark for sure.

Thank goodness we get to watch Greentree every night!

Hoping for a big effort tonight although I don't get to watch🤕.

Carry on .

Wow, a barrage of trades. Sucks to see Dionicio go, one of the more entertaining players in the league. Good return, 2 2nd's. Zhugin is solid, He's nearly a point per game player and by the sounds of it, Saginaw fans were sad to see him go. Mancini is solid defensively. He'll help the team in their own end, that's for sure.

Regarding the Outwater deal. This guy was the 11th pick a few years ago, likely has 2.5 more years in the league. He could develop into a solid point per game player. So we lost a bit of offense but Zhugin is capable of putting up points and so is Outwater.

Spits now loaded with 2nds, now have 6 2nd's in the next five years. Should be able to add another 2nd or so and some 3rds as Bowler continues to sell. This team could improve after these trades, who knows.

Bravo Bowler, Bravo!! Credit where its do, finally moving pieces out. Dionico could be addition by subtraction in terms of, he had alot of bad habits and could run off on the younger players, was fun to watch and has skill but needs to Learn what an offensive defenceman really is if he is to make the leap to pro. Christoplous had his time here and only improved while he was here. Wishing both players a hopeful Mem Cup, Big hill for Saginaw to get there.

With these trades the spitfires are better defensively forsure, the offense may take a hit but hopefully boys play a more structured game out there, its needed. I'm down for watching a defensive team that plays the right way, hopefully were trending in that direction as the season progresses.

As for the game tonight will any of the new additions make it in or are we going to play even more men down. Battle of the toilet bowl tonight, 9 vs 10 in the west. Been a rough season but hope the boys can pick up 2 points and close the gap, just hoping for an honest effort really. Costanzo needs to find his game forsure.

Go Spits Go!!!
