Well this post aged very well!

Well done Spits, Greentree!!
Speaking of Greentree, as mentioned in earlier he had 4 points today, 2G,2A,forgot to mention all 4 points occurred in the 3rd.
Talk about taking a team on your back.
Now has 34 points in 24 games played so far this year.
Last year in his 1st 24 games he had 6G,2A 8 pts, this season 16G,18A,that's improvement.

Wolves fan coming in peace. Luv Greentree, special! Davis and Zuhugin are showing high end promise. I thought your D played really well today Echlier looked good but didn’t see him much late in game. Your BUG was solid. Congrats… today
Thanks for post, you are correct about the play of the D today, should note Spits dressed 7D,11F,may explain the lack of playing time for Eichler late in game, also he and Woodall were -2 each today furthur explains late game ice time.

This should be another interesting Spitfire week. They have assitants to hire, or a full time coach and staff to hire. (Bowler is not going to stay behind the bench).
The team was engaged, maybe for the first time this year. Keeping that momentum is super important!
BB displayed proper management skills by firing a ineffective coaching staff.(thus possibly keeping the fan base). Now let's see how he infuses energy into this team.

Was a awful hire before by Bowler.
Need to right the ship now

Always wonder how much Bowlers arm was originally twisted in choosing Smith by ownership. Cheap option during a rebuild year for them. Nonetheless I do like watching Bowler boil with anger every game this weekend. I'm sure players thought better than to take a shift or 2 off lol. Plus Torres comments that good on ice play will be rewarded with ice time. Something that should have been done by Smith when the season started. You won't earn respect without garnishing a heavy sword at times. Certainly a different looking team this weekend same roster. Go figure. Maybe Bowler should keep on the bench for a while longer to help groom Torres moving forward. Like I said last night very respectable effort. The fans will support that kind of results knowing we ain't a number one team this year. GO SPITS!!

IMHO Bowler will remain on the bench for the next 6 games and hopefully will be able to find a full time coach before the team gets back to play after their Xmas break. If he finds a head coach expect that person to bring in the assistants he wants and Torres will be moved into a scouting role. I think perhaps we could see a trade or two of a minor nature (body out-high pick back).

Instead of 6 games it will probably be 7 minimum with the 2 road games this Thursday and Friday, and then 5 games remaining till the Christmas break.
As of now I am not concerned about putting a date on when a new head coach is hired, afterall it appears Torres is getting an audition for the gig of head coach and the early returns so far are encouraging note I wrote early returns, as well Torres has expressed interest in the HC job moving and Bowler to date has had a front seat to what Torres has done to date.
Heaving no major A head coaching experience shouldn't be a barrier, afterall Boughner, Rocky Thompson and Marc Savard had various successes with Spits teams as new coaches.
Will be interesting to see how things shake our no need to rush things imo, though I would like to see at least 1 addition to the bench corps preferably 2 sooner then later.

IMO, BB should be scouting, as that possibly is his best suit. He missed a major tournament this past weekend, which he normally goes to. He stays on for the 7 games and that could lead to drafting mistakes (on a good draft year). We require a terrific draft to avoid what happened this year. There are a number of high picks performing at a poor level (don't need to name names), and this is really hurting the team. Maybe a couple of the names mentioned in the previous coaching search, could be interviewed this time!

Still plenty of time study prospects, plus Frank Evola handles alot of the intense scouting, more then 1 new scout was added prior to season,am sure he is aware of the importance of scouting not concerned if Bowler stays on the bench till Xmas break,no doubt scouting assignments and assessments have been discussed by him with his staff.
Agree definitely an important year for drafting with 2 maybe 3 picks in the top 25 to 30 to made by Windsor this coming draft, seeing as they have their 1st round pick, plus 2 seconds 1 being Niagara which I think will be in top 25 or 26,plus Peterborough 's 2nd as well.

As mentioned below there are enough scouts to do the initial review, at least for a few weeks. there are plenty of veiwngs left that Bowler can watch kids that the scouts have isolated.

This year's draft was a low pick so you can't expect top 5 play from someone going just before the 2nd round. still a very good player but not ready to lead and who are they really playing with that will bring them there?

I do think Bowler needs to take some time to get the head coaching job filled correctly. Please don't go with the low hanging fruit because they got a couple of wins. To be honest it looked to me that Bowler was really acting as the head coach so not sure Casy has the "push" to be that guy.

And stay the course. Entertain any and all offers for any players that will not be in the mix for next year.

As I mentioned before no concerns re the scouting perfect examples Greentree chosen 34th last year 2nd round now 7th in league scoring and youngest player in the top 21 point scorers in the league, toss in Cole Davis drafted 65th in the 4th round leads OHL rookies in scoring with 10G,8A,Carson Woodall drafted in the 10th round same year as Greentree and Davis playing a regular till he got hurt, settling back in.
As for the coaching to date small sample size re Torres and Bowler considerable improvement in most areas particularly in goals against and PK,positional play most and not giving up,hope they keep things up.

Id agree. Lots of time to scout still. Get the coaching straight, make your last moves and let things settle. He should be working some relationships with pro teams to get the proper info on euro players!
Lots to do by year end, get it all right!

Mark Rideout and his brother did a great job of coaching in Essex....maybe BB should hire them to assist Torres.......

Don't you if your are joking or not, despite Essex being 17-1,Rideout,his brother and another coach were fired by team management and I am sure Bowler is aware of why, safe to say no chance entertains your idea of Ridouts added to help Torres.

Too many fights in recent Dresden game seemed to invoke the coaching consideration....
The team organization is the selling point of their hire.

Essex coaches not a fit here. Leave it at that! Lets see how the guys respond after getting some practice time in. Info is again locked down. BB is damn good at keeping enquiries on the down low!

So another mini roadtrip. Be nice to see some points out of it but if they lose close ones I'm ok with that. Tonight is probably the best chance for a win but in junior hockey you never know who shows up when.
Thinking Joey will get the start but after Sunday maybe not?
They've had some practice time now so maybe we see some more structured D starting tonight?
Lost track but are they not all healthy for tonight? Would be a first all year.
Hard work has to/must be the theme every night if there is any chance for a win.
Sunday was one of their better games this year. They worked hard and took advantage of a team that underestimated them. Need more of that.

That's been the big thing I've seen with Bowler since nearly day one. If he doesn't want info out, nothing gets out. He's very calculated in how he talks and releases info.

Costanzo gets the start.
Morneau and Martin are in
Greenwell and Winegard are out.
Also not dressed are Struthers and Castle.
Myself I would have started Michelone, maybe he is being saved for the 1 at Guelph tomorrow.
Ist 3 games with new coaching,granted small sample size,PP -25% effiency 2-8,was 17% 1st 21 games,PK,7-8,87% was low 70's 1st 21 games,goals against 3.66 last 3 games ,over 6 1st 21 games,GF 4.67 last 3 was 3.33 1st 21 games,more more importantly attention to detail much better,hoping the improvement continues in all areas.
Finally the 04 born players need to pick it up most notably Abraham pointless in last 8 games,Smith 1 point an assist in his last 9,1G2A in last 15,Castle pointless last 4,though he isn't playing tonight, Toms pointless last 7,-16 though he was a +1 his last game.

WTF is Abraham staying out way too long his first shift?? He's got to be better than that. Had a chance to get off the ice but thought he'd hang around until gassed
