It's one of those games where you see "4-1" on the laptop screen but it was pretty much tit-for-tat for 59 minutes. Barrie played solid defence in the first half, forcing Windsor to the outside, while Windsor's D didn't give up many chances at all. Anything they did give up was stopped by Costanzo, who was strong. Once the Spitfires got through the D, Hillenbrand did his part and made some big saves.

If you have a 2-1 game through 59 minutes, both sides are playing well. The two EN goals just make it look otherwise. It would have been nice if Windsor could beat Hillenbrand a couple of more times but, credit where due, he played well.

Dust off, get ready for Guelph tomorrow.

Good road effort with some bad lapses. Yes we outshot them but they did have much better scoring chances overall. 6 on 5 we could not even exit our zone. Out muscled for pucks late big time. On to Guelph tomorrow. Hopefully a we get better looks and capitalize.

Scoreboard looks way worse than the game was. Solid effort. Spits are playing competitive hockey and I’m here for it.

Greentree is a monster. Costanzo played a solid game, and got beat by some minor mistakes. those missed poke checks will happen, unfortunately it cost big here. The second goalie puck got tangled in Eichlers skates, and a good shot when it ended up back with the colts. I’m surprised Joey was sprawled out still as he’s normally really quick to get to his feet.

I don’t blame him in this one. Or anyone really. I’m liking Eichler more as he adapts more. Not a bad game, it was competitive, and Barrie just made one less mistake.

They are looking better and they are looking more competitive but depth is just not there.

I'm all in on shots from anywhere and often but it seemed the perimeter shots were hitting the net but up close were missing. Net is still the same size since I played. They had lots of qualify chances but could not put them on net. They outplayed Barrie but if you don’t hit the net you don't score.

Seemed to me Abraham and Smith had limited minutes. Either they were not noticeable out there or their toi was cut back?

Defense is better but a few gaffes were noticeable. #5 has played better but his untimely penalties are quite often killing any momentum they have.

For me it is curious that Castle is a scratch every game now. Is he hurt? You would think he would at the minimum rotate in and out with some of the B players? I'm assuming he will get moved for a bottom pick to a team that just needs a roster filler?

Joey played OK . Defense starting to help out more so less 2 on 0's for him to contend with. Wonder who starts tonight?

This will be a tough one tonight. They will have to play their best game and hope Guelph doesn't if there is any chance for points.

Worst win season was late 70's with only 12 wins. Spits are halfway to that with 6. Onwards and upwards!

I agree Re: Castle. Interesting he never gets in. Has he contributed? Meh, not really. As he really hurt us? Also not really.

I’m glad Martins getting in over Castle and Struthers personally. Extra year of eligibility and time to grow. That being said, I wonder if there’s more to Castle?

Complained about 4th line minutes? Asked to be moved? Pure speculation on my part, but he’s not *that* bad. Maybe a “you don’t like 4th line minutes? okay. We’ll give them to someone else.”

Nesbitt hasn’t been overly impressive, but ifthey gave him Smiths minutes, I’d be fine with it.

I’m fine parting with anything from 2004 but Zhugin. Morneau is fine. Michelone May have made enough good saves to hold some backup value elsewhere. Abraham I think has more than he’s offering. Smith is losing trade value by the minute. Castle & Struthers haven’t played since what? Halloween?

Struthers is not going to move any needle. Castle could at least contribute as much as Smith so not sure why he sits? And yes younger players at this point should be given the priority to develop ahead of some older players.

From my previous post I mentioned that I did not see Abraham much last night, so I had a chuckle when I saw on X that the Spits picked him as their 2nd star of the game! Guess he was doing stuff I never saw??? I really do wonder sometimes.

I didn't see it before but right now it says #12 Eduard Sale from the Colts.

Re Castle: I've never gotten the impression that he's content, I guess. He looks like he's going through the motions. Torres has said that he gives ice time to those who show the best in practice so maybe that's part of it? Maybe there's a lingering injury that they're not disclosing? I don't know. At this point, I'd almost rather trade him and get something rather than "Oh, he was dressed tonight? Go figure..."

Re the 2004s: Zhugin's going to depend on how he does the rest of this season. He has real offensive potential but he's also an Import. If Windsor has a top-10 pick, do you get rid of him or Eichler? That might be a tougher decision than we think. Abraham sticks around as there's far too much to ignore. Morneau is a maybe; brings more than just points, which they need. Michelone should be gone, same with Smith.

Problem for me Zhugin seems like a Spellacy 2.0. lots of speed and drive but rarely arrives at the net with puck in tow. Needs a lot more finish the play sorta thing.

And with his points total-41% of Windsor's 85 goals he has figured in.
Last after his 1st 22 games he had 6G,0A
this year in 22 games 17G,18A ,one of most improved players in the league.
I checked out Rehkopf to compare and just edited my last post. Rehkopf is just percentage points below 20%. If I had more time I'd go through the entire league to see if any one player accounts for OVER 20% of his team's goals.
EDIT: Terrance, Erie, 22.5%; Lardis, Brantford, 21.4%
