I was not anyway attacking Greentree's offensive potential this year or next. Johnston played a super defensive responsible game and great on draws. That is why he stuck with Dallas being so young and a good team at that
Didn’t see it as such. Honestly I was just a bit surprised at Greentrees production vs Johnstons early on… and now a bit worried that we’ll lose Greentree early too

A lot COULD have happened with Delmore

1) Stepped down with Smith leaving - two worked together a while, imagine they were close

2) Upset about Torres’s promotion/being overlooked

3) Didn’t want to work under the options for future head coach

4) Knew his D systems were a problem

5) Asked to step down to save face, etc etc.

I do feel that the D has been a bit chaotic the last few years, given the names on paper always made us out to look better than we’ve played. Nothing personal against the coaches, but change was needed. I felt as if Delmore’s health issue could’ve extended his leash a bit too. Yes, it’s a business - not all personal, but feelings and relationships do play a role in junior hockey. Hell the Flint Firebirds wouldn’t exist if their owner didn’t have a son that needed a spot to play 😉

That being said, I like Dent as a choice if we’re looking at fired coaches.

Every guy I really want has an assistant job at the NHL level, and they’re not leaving mid-season to come here. (Savard, Vellucci, Boughner.. wellwoods got an AHL assistant spot)

No matter how you slice this Bowler has created a mess. Now he gets to earn his pay or he will be the next out the door. Savages are business people as well, so friendships aside Bowler needs to fix this or someone else will.
BB has his feet to the fire now. He needs to find 2 assistant coaches “tootsie de sweetie “ before the bus leaves later today/early tomorrow. You never know he may need to replace the bus diver.🤣 If in fact there were players wanting to jump from the good ship Spitfire this change behind the bench is not likely to solve that problem. Hopefully somebody amongst us will give us a heads up to anybody not making the trip.

It's really fascinating that all this has gone down in a span of 9-10 months. From a large trade deadline, getting swept, not doing much of a coaching search. Now we might have the worst 20 games to start the year in franchise history, coach and assistant are done. I can see Bowler seeing things out for a bit but if he goes outside for a coach and he's another dud there isn't a way Bowler sticks around.

I can’t even imagine the backlash. The dreamer would work his platform and media pals into a frenzy with that hire. No way this organization takes that heat again

Ok so… im feeling Bowler has lost all control of the ship as i also previously said but was told im to hard on him. Ive heard some VERY negative concerns regarding him and this is only throwing gas on the fire! Fired the HC he supposedly chose, now 2 AC’s both with pro experience have resigned… the only conclusion is the problem is the GM and or owners. The CHL may need to step in here or ownership better reach out for some help/direction. Ive been nervous about the way the teams being run for some time and its come to an ugly head. This could have some very ugly ramifications if its allowed to continue. Imho Savages MUST step in and fire BB, Have a replacement in place very quickly that has a solid resume and right the ship. Im sure they dont like the embarrassment attached to the team right now, certainly not with being owners in the nhl! Maybe those connections will help?
I believe he fired Smith to try and save his own ass, that backfired when the others quit. This is legitimately an owners nightmare. My guess is they are shopping for a GM as we speak, that guy will need to be very experienced and tasked to clean this up quick.
