Mr Torres has the same credentials as JS did. Asst coaching, video coach and scouting. No mention of him ever being a head coach so I'm thinking this is definitely an interm thing for sure.
he was throwing his resume around alot over the summer, only for ast jobs. he is an ast, probably decent but not a great one. i think they will have someone like walters or dent hired in a week or two

Or could have been Delmore wanted head coaching job and Bowler said no and Delmore resigned.
He did apply for head coach when Savard left and it was given to Smith.
Possible but I think Delmore obviously knew he was on thin ice with the D structure collapse since he's been here. Worse each season. He'd been foolish to even ask. If he was turned down this past summer he'd left then if he was pissed or stayed to make sure Smith failed??

He's trying to figure out which finger fits in what hole in the leaky bucket. I'm afraid you are going to see a panic move by him and Spits are no better off. Him suggesting he will look at fired coaches is very troublesome.
Disagree you look at all avenues, that's how he got Savard, leaving no stone unturned is not panicking, stress all avenues.

I wonder if a guy like Dale Mitchell will be considered for an assistant job or more far fetched someone new like zack kassian/Josh Bailey coming back to coach as an assistant.

Either way for our head coach we need to find either A- experience being a head coach at this level or higher.
B- Former NHL Player, with some kind of coaching experience who these players know has been in there shoes and has made it to the show. Makes players buy into what there preaching more.

Most important the coach needs to be competent, and be able to read the game and his players as the game progresses. Hockey for coaches is all about strategy but most of all the adjustments you make or dont make during games. Also need a coach that has accountability of his players. Our teams future is now in Bowlers hands with his decisions.

That’s a hard pass on Zassian.

His only HC position was Kingston U16 AAA in 2015-16
Bottom line he is , at least for now, the temporary head coach. Asst coaches probably assigned by BB. The Badder bus will head out for Peterborough tomorrow if they play Thursday. It will be interesting to see who dresses. Perhaps some of those who wanted out will now be willing to stay. Regardless it will be a tough weekend with all the changes.

The D has not been good under Delmore’s tutelage regardless of players in and out. The only constant has been a brutal defence. He has to go too or we’ll get much
The one thing I will say and preface my comment maybe what he wants to do in junior didn't translate well. Delmore always had a strong D when he was with Toledo in the ECHL. I think it might be everything. Look at Cristoforo put up a lot of points but hasn't had the want to as of now to be great in his own zone.

Whatever he was trying to implement to the defense wasn't working. Last year I believe they were 13th in goals conceded, the d-zone coverage was bad last season even with guys like Sobolev, DeAngelis and Holmes. I expect the defense to get better now as Mancini has time to settle in and Woodall comes back from injury hopefully this weekend or next.

Agree 💯. I have no idea why so many on here defend 74 this year. Even with a poor defensive structure an individual can try and execute shot blocks and exert a effort trying to stop a player one on one. 1 goal 10 assists being showcased with team leading D minutes played with a -22 team worst is exactly the last thing this team needs or a NHL team is looking for. Maybe a change of venue would help him. Like the kid but it is what it is. My complaint is the similar for Greentree. Offense only minded players are not team players. Harsh but true. Play both sides of the puck if you have a prayer to make the NHL. That same style works in the OHL quite well.

Ernie Godden and Bill Bowler were both Spitfire OHL legends 5 NHL games career and 9 NHL games played during the offense first time period, still tells anyone that defensive side of the puck is super important with enough physical presence to hold you're own. The CHL and the NCAA exist to produce professional players. the CHL is considered semi pro already, so the fact that these are young kids doesn't change the fact they are here to hope and make the big show. The Euro kids are playing in professional leagues now to develop. Does anyone think playing for a highschool football state championship or a ncaa game in front of 80000 fans has less pressure? The coaches and players are expected to excel as it is a business front and center with fans screaming for or against. Once you charge for a ticket, expect criticism when things go bad.
