Well he's playing hurt and has literally no coaching so I think he will get better under a new defensive coach, but I'm not sure if Delmore stays that he will improve. I just see more potential than the others but right now what you see is what you get.
i watched him a few years ago with his brother in north york at silverstick, i think he lacks hockey iq and doesnt manage the puck. his feet are not great. that is why i view him as a bottom pair guy at best.

Get someone else other than Bowler to speak. That's not his strong suit.
Or, the team could hire a ventriloquist, have Bowler sit on his lap, playing the dummy, and then he could make any announcement(s) he chose. If things don't work out, he has the ventriloquist, to toss under the bus. :D;)

Ya he looks that way now but 2 years from now he will be a 5-6. Never much beyond that. Anyway your opinion is usually a good one so let's just wait until the dust settles on this one.🙂

it just depends on what you view a 4 or 5 is. i think if the 3 is outstanding, he can play with him as a 4. if the 3 is more of a guy that needs support, then he cant play with him. he could play with ryan ellis and look good, but be couldnt play with starikov or webermin and look good. alot of it is who he plays with and how he is used.

And it's systems as well. Right now Spits defensive system are sorely lacking and he needs more structured stay at home type systems. He will never be an offensive D.

thats fair, who ever play with him and whoever is setting the system up needs to learn his limitations and allow those systems to play to his abilities. he needs to move the puck simply and have time to do so. he cant freestyle or improvise, he will struggle mightily.

Not sure if the Spits still have a pure "skills coach" or not anymore?
I remember Curtis Douglas saying that when they had a skills coach it was his favorite part of practice. He felt it was the best part of development by improving his skills.

Manny Pava was interviewed in Am800. You can listen to the clip from Mike & Lisa. He basically expects Bowler to place Delmore and Torres to take over for at least the road trip and beyond until a replacement is found. Expects to hire from outside but BB has couple names in mind and hopes more will come forward. He also mentioned it is possible he may look at one of the recent ohl fired coaches. Not much to read into it.

Nothing like possibly going after a recycled coach. The stuff with Delmore and Torres makes sense. They have 2 weeks until their next home game have him in place for that.

Delmore knew it wasn’t working here. Wise decision imho. BB is losing his ship, only a matter of time i hope!!
It could have been like McFarland here in Kingston - when Caputi was fired he wanted the HC gig...but Mann was hired so McFarland quit

Well some of us correct. Smith and Delmore gone although I'm sure Bowler asked him to step down or be fired. Torres being named for now HC not surprising. He did seem disconnected from Smith and Delmore from day 1 and unusually quiet on the bench as noted on here from day 1 as well.

Or could have been Delmore wanted head coaching job and Bowler said no and Delmore resigned.
He did apply for head coach when Savard left and it was given to Smith.
