I didn't realize Bowler was on TV at intermission on Saturday. Windsor Star has a quote from Bowler - (part of quote) " There has to be a change within. You can’t buy your way out of this. There needs to be some change within. We’ve got to find a way to get out of this.”

Just a small change so far.
Hopefully more done..

Well it was quicker than I thought but we all new it was likely going to happen.

I would really prefer someone from the outside that wants the job that gets it, and with experience. It has to be a fresh start. A hard time of year and a team that is definitely needing help so it may be hard to find that. Hope Bowler actually works at this one.

Don't really care who steps in for now but take the time to make this right.

Theres some bodies local that could do the job interim but im guessing BB as well. No chance the Essex guys end up here. More to it than your hearing. I to would clean house but there needs to be some continuity for now unless you hire a permanent HC.

Said from the day i heard Smith was the likely guy it was a mistake! Why BB isnt gone too is likely because hes nearly irreplaceable for the Savages. This is only a step in the right direction, more must happen!

Maybe the new owners have a coach in mind .

Good to see Bowler admit he made a mistake and make a coaching change. Nothing against Smith, just wasn't working out. Not a good roster but zero structure to their game. Obviously, will likely have an interim HC for now. I imagine they will have an extensive search for the right guy.

I wonder if they give Torres the HC spot for now? He's new to the organization, has a solid resume, and might be able to bring some new ideas to the forefront.
I said that earlier brought in from way outside for a reason. Bowler fail-safe, try him without a whole lot of pressure starting. Just hope his outward quietness on the bench was because he disagreed with what was going on

I could get behind that move, and as an idea for assistant coach would be former Spitfire Greg Nemisz, aside from being a former Spitfire on a couple Mem Cups, drafted by Calgary played NHL and AHL games, also assistant coach for 5 years with Oshawa Generals.

A couple of things….for those who feel sorry for Smith. He has a contract…not sure of its length but he will get paid in full.Anyone who gets the new job will be getting a few years on a contract for taking on this challenge.

Shouldn't feel sorry...

I can say this - at Smith's introduction press conference this summer, Bowler was asked how long Smith's contract was for. He refused to say.
Was too long.
Bad decision by Bowler

Believe contract has an escape clause. Dont ask…. Next announcement team is sold?!?! Heard zero about that currently, but…. I could get my hands around Nemisz as an interim coach. No chance i give it to either asst coach! This has been a group effort in failure no one should stay.

I agree on Nemisz to an extent. He's just not going to take interim though. He will/should want term on contract. With that if you give him term he should be able to hire his staff. This is why I thought Smith being named wasn't great. I am well aware that this situation isn't great. Keep Delmore and Torres bring Bowler behind the bench. Let Delmore and Torres make their salary. They're not making the playoffs you will have months to scope our prospective coaches. There isn't anyone you can bring behind the bench to save this. Since this was a rushed hire I can see Smith who has been here for over a decade that would have a contract the rolls over after every year. They shouldn't be on the hook for much but.... He's been on staff for 3 different coaches. I have a hard time that he was a good soldier this whole time and every coach just would hire him. Coaches are very confident have egos and want/need autonomy. They shouldn't just let management dictate who they should hire.

The players are different today for sure BUT london runs things old school and everyone is ok with it. Im not against an old school guy coming in but your point is valid. Just not sure what happens in shirt term. If owners have any interest from prospective buyers theres no chance a coach is hired. If not theres other considerations. Does BB keep his job? Thats just one.
