If you watch, EVERY decision goes thru BB on the bench. The myth that Torres is HC is comical. This Flint team is bad as well, not hardly worth watching. Ill be happy with a lottery shot at #1 at this point.
As for BB, how the Savages can justify keeping him is beyond me. Likely happens tho when you have 1 person so invested in all of your hockey operations! I see next years team having many new faces, justifiably so. Eichler will be euro draft dependent, 74 not goin anywhere. Good on Gaymes goal, simply playing in front of the net!

Somewhere
Christo on 5th goal he peels off player instead of trying to take him or puck and they score.

If this team could play 18 min periods by removing the first and last minute they would be more competitive.

Now 8 points to the off season.
I've no idea what that was but boy oh boy they literally have no systems in place. You can't win this time of year on skill alone.
I said it earlier, since Bowler returned behind the bench all detail towards systems and defense went into the wind.

I'm starting to enter the "let's just enjoy March for what it is" territory.
That happened when they hired Smith. Anything you see beyond Greentree holds little value because they were cooked before Christmas. Players still try but playing 40 non competitive games doesn't help.

Reread the article from the Trenton incident. Trenton owners group and the coaching staff have appealed the decision from Hockey Canada and Newbury is doing the same now that he has been suspended. Because of the appeal they are all under a gag order as would anyone else that is connected to it ( Bowler by association). Bowler cannot comment on it . If you recall the owner/GM of the Icedogs was suspended for 2 years because he could not keep his yap shut during an ongoing investigation. I hate defending Bowler at this point but he has said as much as he is allowed to say. Now once this has concluded one can only assume ( key word there) that he will issue a statement. I'm also assuming that Newbury will not be returning next season. Be safe.

Watched the game last night. So did a number of the Spits. I’m not talking about the 4th liners. If I didn’t know better it looked as if most of the players didn’t want to be that close to BB. Not a great way to close out the season.

Trenton's ownership is in denial on what took place in their dressing room.
A player was allegedly severally bullied for an off ice relationship that was taking place. -They traded him when he raised concerns. -It was one of their better players and no one could understand at the time why he was suddenly moved for a very cheap return.
It was rumored / alleged around the area that the coaches actually fueled the bullying that was taking place in the dressing room. -The HC investigation seems to have agreed as both coaches have now been suspended 4 weeks each.

Thanks for the update. Bowler will have to stay quiet in the press but I'm sure ownership and he will have to be making steps to distance themselves from that.

The season really ended when JS was appointed HC.
It became players can do no wrong, with no systems in place.
The team was lucky to win 4 games with this type of direction.
The defence has been weak for a few years .......players too small, very poor systems, no accountability for mistakes, ect, ect, ect

Season ticket holders are fed up, and major changes are required !!!!!!

Greatly appreciate the insight to the situation. No way should the Spits hired Newberry. Bowler should have enough contacts around that league with scouting etc that he turned a blind eye to the allegations or just didn't ask so he could say " i was unaware" . Coaching whether helped initiate the bullying or did nothing and stood by is just as bad. Newberry coming to the Spits stating " here to help make players better human beings off the ice" is a load of crap. The suspensions have obvious merit after thorough investigation. Trenton will of course say they disagree as lawsuit likely coming at some point.

Bad coaching.
No defense. So soft
Goaltending wasn't good.
R they just counting down the days??
It must have been posted 30 times over the last year about Costanzo being the 5th best goalie but an .853 save% and a GAA of 5+ isn’t any more. In the OHL, the D in front of the goalie affects their numbers immensely but Constanzo hasn’t looked good any game I’ve watched him this year. You’d think if Frogett or Altiman were OHL ready they’d be up with the big club too.

Costanzo has been a Jekyl-and-Hyde goaltender; some games are great, others are the complete opposite. The team has stated that he's been getting help working on a lot of different areas, including the mental side of things. He has the ability, just has to get it consistently, which can be a challenge. With that said, Froggett had a look in the OHL when they needed a backup, and he didn't look out of place. Altiman is an option but he's very small (5'8 160?). Given they've been going for the playoffs since the start of the second half, I'd also guess that bringing up either goaltender would have been a signal that the season is over. They haven't been ready to do that yet.

10 games to go and we sit in 18th place. Our schedule is not an easy one . 4 home and six away. Not sure what the schedule is for the Ice Dogs or Petes. If we win 3 games odds are we end up 18th. I can’t see either the Dogs or Pete’s winning 3 either. Then again those teams both have better coaching.
