Greentree required stitches around the eye but no damage to his eye itself as per Savard thankfully. Still don't know why there was not a penalty on the play. Follow through contact unintentional or not is a penalty. It came from the shooters stick so how could both refs not see it? They are either negligent not calling it or negligent if both say they never saw it. It was not like a behind the play incident. Good grief. I know non-call highsticking is not reviewable but maybe it should be say when blood is obviously drawn.
Don't agree. Follow through from a shot is not considered a high sticking penalty. It is the refs discretion and they spent time talking about it after but for me no call is the right call .

This how I understood the rule also.

Hopefully for Greentree it's not serious, swelling goes down quick n he can get back quickly probly with a cage.

I agree to a point on blowing the whistle. Officials need to quickly assess the seriousness of the injury. However, we all know that if the whistle is blown everytime a player appears to be injured, faking injuries would be happenning constantly. Would be right there with diving, embellishment and dislodging the net.

There has to be a better way than last night, though. Greentree was in obvious pain and the staff was on the boards screaming. I get that some players fake it but maybe penalize those ones instead of the ones who are actually hurt.

You are 100% correct. Shot follow through is not highsticking unless someone is trying to knock down a puck in motion carelessly.

Now u r going to want to rely on the same refs to make that call that have been called out to miss the other plays by teams?...

Boy it never ends here! Good game, showed some positive direction! Very happy Tree ok!! Gotta win this exact kinda game, showed some tenacity. O played well again, great time to come into his game. How bad is Sobolev? This team could just be a bit bored waiting for playoffs. It happens. Every game now means a lot, no more let downs boys!

Windsor is in 1st place in the Conference with London losing today. They are tied with 86 points from 62 games. Windsor holds the tiebreaker, which is Regulation and Overtime Wins (ROW) by a 40 to 35 margin. Sarnia has 80 points from 61 games with a ROW of 34.

Assuming Sarnia wins out and London wins their next 3 games, Windsor can shut out Sarnia if they can win their next 4 games (Saginaw, Soo, Soo and Guelph). This would have Windsor going into the final weekend with a 2 point lead over London, but London will have 1 game in hand. Windsor can clinch the Championship by beating London once in regulation. The next 4 games are not playing out the season but clinching 2nd overall and putting them in position to win the Championship. They had better not be "bored" waiting for the playoffs, or they will find themselves in 3rd place.

The team needs to get back to the mindset of a month ago. At that point they couldn't be beat even with the injuries. All teams get injuries, that can't be an excuse.

When I analyze the current injuries:

Harrison - Hopefully back soon. He is a big offensive piece, but he wasn't here until January. The team was flying before he got here.

Abraham - Another large piece, but he has been out most of the year and the team is in 1st place.

Spellacy - A 16yo 4th liner with unlimited potential. However, he is a 16yo 4th liner.

Greentree - Another 16yo that has unlimited potential. He will be missed, but hopefully Harrison returns quickly to replace him.

Sobolov - Best defensive defenseman. He has been injured and the team played well in his absence.

I am hoping that Harrison, Greentree and Sobolov are back this week. No word on Sobolov, but players limp off near the end of the game and just need a couple days of rest. I am hoping that is the case. Greentree was not badly hurt, even though it was probably an inch or so from being career ending. I would expect him back soon wearing a cage. Harrison is supposedly close to returning.

When I look at the players not hurt, it is still a very formidable team. While it would be great to have a full lineup, the remaining players need to dig down and get it done. Even with the injuries, this team is far better than Saginaw, Soo and Guelph.

Just get the job done.

Nice to be back in 1st place in the conference. Some winnable games are upcoming especially with Harrison likely coming back Wednesday. London struggling and going to be without Mailloux due to suspension. They are a resilient squad though, and the first spot will probably come down to the final weekend.

London's loss today moves Windsor into 1st place in the conference. It sure is coming down to to the wire/ final weekend.
Those last two games Vs London should be crazy with the conference on the line.

7 sections sold out already vs London on the “Restaurant End”, with 6 sections only with singles available.

Nearly two weeks out and 13 of the 22 sections are almost gone.

Also London the night before only has singles available. Luckily just had to grab a solo ticket for that game.

Anyone know when Playoff Tickets go on sale? Saw London’s are already up for grabs… and with great success comes an abundance of casual fans. Trying to lock in my preferred seats lol

After NB got that 3rd goal, I switched over to root for a Kitchener comeback, I may have to go watch those shenanigans.

Say what you want about Mailloux off the ice, but he’s a stud out there, and without him, I think London is a bit away from where they are now. He’s a key part to that teams success probably 2nd to only Brochu. But even then, Bowens looking promising.

I imagine they rest Greentree this week especially if Harrison returns. They don’t seem pressed to put 12 or even 11 forwards out there.

Spits may be the best condition team, or most worn down team going into playoffs as they’ve been playing with only 3 lines for the last month.
