I like the fact that someone has been showing 74 how to throw a check! Did you see him drop the Saggy Player when he tried to come across the blue line with the puck! Nice to see a guy of his size unafraid to hit, ala Ellis.
Keep it up Cristo! You are going to go far in this league!
Double like for this post. I was going to say the same thing, I had flash backs with that hit!!!

I think being out there with Dionicio provides a little extra protection for Christoforo.

I actually really like our D group.

Renwicks a great Top 4 guy, not as much Top 2.

Why are we giving up so many goals? Watch how frequently the D steps up in the play… and how I frequently forwards cover them. A lot of GA are odd man rushes.

Having an extra guy in the offensive zone is great until it heads back the other way. Wright is a difference maker here. His back checking abilities with his speed and strength will single handedly make a difference.

This team is offense first, same as last year. Odd man rushes are bound to happen frequently.

I'm not worried about Castle. He's not here to light it up. If he gets 10 goals in the second half, that's great.

As far as Miedema/O'F/Ride go - it's going to take time for them to adjust. You don't go from a championship contender to complete rebuild and put up points right away. They'll be just fine.

As for tomorrow - go with Costanzo if he's able. He's done nothing to show that he can't handle it, so far.
Team is just too deep - he would produce if given more of an offensive role - that can’t happen until next season unfortunately.

Go Spits Go!!!
Agree
On another note let's hope rookie winger Liam Greentree continues his fine play after last night's game he now has 10G,9A in his last 17 games played, very good for anyone especially a 16 year old taken in the 2nd round,in fact amongst players under 17 he is 4th in rookie scoring points wise 22 tied with Parekh of Saginaw and Spence from Erie,in fact he has more points then anyone taken in the 2nd round and he went 34th overall, dman Anthony Christoforo leads all 16 year dmen with 24 points and is listed 7th in overall in rookie scoring,he is 3rd for 16 year olds in scoring,2nd for rookie scoring for dmen ,17 year old Oliver Bonk leads all rookie D in points,Christoforo was chosen 22nd overall by Windsor in the 1st,and finally 16 year old forward AJ Spellacy is listed 13th in rookie scoring overall,8th among 16 year old rookies.
Turning to rookie goalies Windsor's Joey Costanzo is listed 1st with a 2.97 goals against average,.905 save percentage and a record of 12-2-0-1, including a current 8-0 record ongoing.
Costanzo also is listed 5th overall for goalies in average and is 4th in save per centage league wide tied with London's Brett Brochu at .905.
The next rookie goalie is 18th overall for Mississauga Ryan Leenders a 16 year old average of 3.95 and a save percentage of .863.
Looks to me despite Windsor's current place in the standings 3rd overall,1st in conference and division the future is bright.

Despite giving up 7 this week, I give Costanzo major props.

Last night the only goal I’ll fault him some is the Parekh goal.
1) Misa wraparound on the PP (deangelo should’ve had him)
2) Mancini’s beautiful tip in front.
3) Parekh goal (should’ve been covered)

He faced some shots, but didn’t really take a taxing work load (not a lot of post to post, cross crease stretches, etc).

I really hope to see him back in net today - Costanzo / Brochu would be another good bout

Agreed no doubt, in fact here are the numbers for the 5 guys we have picked up in the last week or so
Harrison 5GP- 4G,4A,8 Pts
Dionicio 4GP- 1G,5A,6 Pts
Wright 2GP- 2G,1A,3 Pts
Holmes 5GP-0G, 3A,3 Pts
Castle 4GP-0G, 0A,0 Pts

I feel sorry for the young players dealt in the trades for the above,Miedema, O'Flaherty and Ride.
Here are their totals as Kingston and Niagara are really struggling.
Miedema-3GP-0 0 0 4 Pim and -6
O'Flaherty 6GP-0 1 1 7 Pim and -3
Ride -6GP- 0 0 0 2 Pim and-4
All 3 were great kids here and there was
definitely alot of sadness when they left
I wish them all well.
And Ride git injured last night do not know how bad.

WINDSOR
Solid period overall. Want to see less of those hail Mary passes up the middle exiting our zone. The middle is covered right now.

The behind the net thing is hilarious. The only reason they are doing this is because the Knights are playing an old school neutral zone trap. Not often you see a full on trap being played in junior hockey.

Typically I hate the behind the net thing, if you’re wasting your own time.

3-0 game. London’s clearly getting frustrated. It’s all mind games. Heats up the crowd, crowd gets frustrated with their team, starts to get in their heads.

It’s frustrating being the other team, but if you want the puck, go get it.

I'm all for clearing out the crease if they're hovering around Costanzo, but push... don't cross-check. Don't give officials any reason to call you.
