Should also note with Holmes - he is an NHL draft pick by the Dallas Stars, but he is unsigned. So there is overage potential with him if the Spitfires wish to go that route.

Prices have been real heavy so far this year - perhaps him being a potential overager caused him to go for a higher price.
he wont be signed, ill bet on it. hes been pretty average from what ive seen, just my opinion

You’re not wrong.

Interesting deal, definitely overpaid - but aligns with the type of player Windsor has wanted.

Good skater, has good defensive instics however hasn’t improved much since his draft.

Like I said last week, the Spits could afford to trade 2 2nd's no problem and they did. Adding an NHL pick in Holmes will help the defense. I view this acquisition very similar to the Perrott deal. Now let's see if the rumours of the 03 forward are real.

I don’t see the Holmes deal even announced yet
I’m not one of them, but there are people on here that have closer connections to the sources than the social media managers.

Gotta make a graphic, proof read over and over, etc.

I have no reason to believe the Holmes deal is fake. Makes sense, I don’t like the price but it’s a buyers market. Everything seems more expensive than it’s worth, especially with so many teams in.

Wonder if anything in that deal is conditional, because whether he plays 23/24 or not makes a big difference.

If he’s a true Top 6 Guy here and not going to get pushed out: DeAngelis, Holmes, Christoforo, Ride is a potentially solid core. May put us in a position to not need to do the same move again next year.

i think it will be similar to zhilkin, just not sure what the spits pick database is right now, they wont have much left.
They had 4 2nd's and all their 3rd's in 23 and 2024 heading into today.

According to the data base they have four 2nds & four 3rds left after the Holmes trade. Could be a bit off though in whay picks they have.
