Both players would be solid character guys and not hard to blend into the dressing room. They are captains for a reason. Ok with this as long as a player doesn't go out - clarify - Christoforo.
He‘s not in the deal. He is as close to untouchable as you can get.

Harrison isn’t a player that garners a Cristoforo anyway

My gut (only that) says that if a player goes out it's either Ride or O'Flaherty. They're not dealing Cristoforo... there's no way.

To me, it seems management is afraid to throw that chemistry off.

From everything I've heard, this is/was a big deal.

Definitely an overpayment by a bit but he improves our D Core 4-7 and adds experience and leadership which undervalued. No roster player given up. I'm hoping for another Defensive Defenseman to be on the way to our squad soon before the deadline day, especially if there's no Onuska trade coming. Excited to see some kind of movement towards a direction, and not just dead in the water. Lots of teams have been active. Nice to see Bowler finally do something at least.
I really don’t think they’ll switch things up from Renwick, Sobolev, Holmes, Christoforo, DeAngelis, and Ride. With Jodoin as a depth option.

Renwicks giveaways are my issue with his games, but aside from that I like him. Maybe Holmes coming in and dividing up the share of ice, will lead to Renwick being more aware and resulting in less giveaways.

Renwick and Sobolev are the two I don’t see returning so if I was looking to push anyone out, it’s one of them. DeAngelis, Christoforo are both solid and swapping either of them doesn’t help us much now, for what it costs in the future. Ride still seems to be adjusting to this level and his size but he’s a completely serviceable Top 6 D Man on any team currently. Also interested to see him progress.

I think Holmes finishes the D and I don’t think Hebek will be chosen over Jodoin. I feel the organization is high on Jodoin for his versatility and making room for him in the past.

I don’t hate the Holmes trade even with the price. We needed an upgraded D with Holmes being the Sudbury Captain, it’s likely he’s a positive guy in the room. To me, it seems management is afraid to throw that chemistry off.

If Holmes returns, we’ll likely get a solid return for one of our OA’s next year. All seem like assets at the OHL level, but
None seem to be ready to make that jump.

If we add a forward then Abraham returns, it’ll push out McIlwin & Johnston. IMO I could see Martin stay here without a trade. I’ll admit I’m pretty high on the kid but he can find the back of the net and his size is hard to overlook, especially as an 05. He keeps getting the call, so it may not be a this year thing with the commit to buying, but I could see him being impactful in the future
Again. Way to much fort Harrison

2nds - 4
3rds - 4
4ths - 1
5ths - 1
6ths - 1

Seems like a lot for Harrison and Holmes but given the current market about on par.

It definitely improves the team and shows we’re making a push. I wonder if the Top 3 gaining some separation came into play in the decision.

I think Ownership may be looking at last year, knowing if we had spent on one more guy it very likely would have been the difference and not wanting to make the same mistake twice.

Peer, Christopolous, Maillet, Jodoin, McIlwin, Sobolev, and now Holmes & Harrison are the 03s.

I think 6 will hold high value if they return next year.

Yes I've been wondering about the "yet" as well.
I really don’t think we will. Unless there’s a buyer on McIlwin or Hebek, I would not be surprised if they try and stay put.

Only issue then becomes McIlwin, Johnston, Jodoin, Hebek not fitting in the lineup.

While it doesn’t hurt to sit a 16 year old, I feel all 3 of ours are performing higher than those just listed.

Harrison has signed with Boston already
Jodoin and McLlwain will not be OA
It will come down to 2D,Sobolev and Holmes,3F,Peer,Christopoulos, Maillet
Will be interesting.

You’re not wrong.

Interesting deal, definitely overpaid - but aligns with the type of player Windsor has wanted.

Good skater, has good defensive instics however hasn’t improved much since his draft.
It’s like we paid for him to excel with a change of scenery, hopefully that’s the case!

Agreed about Jodoin and McIlwin.

I think rare case for Harrison to stay in the OHL, along with Sobolev. Either would bring back picks. if they did and they were moved

Someone out of Holmes/Peer/Christo/Maillet will be moved, and regardless of who goes, I think we’ll get a solid little haul back when it happens.

Wondering out loud if an OA goalie might be flipped for another OA goalie so they can play closer to home? Might cost another player as well as some minor picks?

Onuska is from Waterloo, which means it'd be Costantini coming this way. Is Kitch willing to do that?
If you can get Abraham and Johnston back from injury this can make O'Flaherty expendable and recoup picks. OFlaherty isn't going to be top 9 if players are healthy.

I'd 100% rather have OF out there than Johnston.

Not neccesarily could be Chenard from Owen Sound who is from this area.

Well, you guys wanted Bowler to pick a direction lol. The right decision was made, when there is this much separation from 1-3 seeds and the rest of the conference you buy.

Harrison is probably the 2nd best forward on the team behind Maggio. The offense is looking good. That center depth is great. Maillet, Harrison, Abraham, and Peer are the 4 centers.

One will play the wing no doubt.

Looking at the current draft board...

Windsor has Ott 2nd 2023, but then no 2nds until 2026. SSM 3rd in 2023 but then nothing until 2027. No fourth or fifth in 2023, but plenty beyond.
