Team often rolls 7 D men. But if im being honest id use Renwick as the 7th guy or move him. Far to many giveaways on a consistent basis. Jodoin then rotates in wherever as is pretty normal. Dont see O going anywhere frankly.
That doesn't make the team better. You dress Jodoin that's fine, who is going to gobble up the minutes from Renwick?? Don't tell me Hebek or Ride. With stuff like this you're losing the plot because collectively Hebek/Jodoin/Ride isn't going to to gobble up those minutes from Renwick and make them markedly better defensively. You still need to score goals Ride/Jodoin/Hebek have combined for 3 goals 13 assists in 85 games played this is not accounting for games where Jodoin played up front etc..

I don’t think they’ll roll 7 once Abraham returns. I think they’ve gone with 7 because of injuries and the fact that Jodoin is a better replacement up front (if needed).

I’m not opposed to upgrading the OA D like we did last year with Ladd/Perrott. I think Renwick is better than Ladd was at this time last year, but Renwick has struggled with giveaways. I totally think he can fix that, but it’s been happening frequently so I wonder if it’s even been addressed.
Renwick has family ties to this organization which people seem to forget.

Any chance we can pry Paul Christopoulis off a contending NB team for a reasonable price? Easily leads the league in plus minus. Kind of D we could use and reunite the twins and not a headliner name.

Unlikely. They are all in this year and have two top 3 D out with long term injuries although both expected back before or at start of playoffs.

Formidable up front and will be solid on D when at full health. Nelson, Christo, Hislop, MATHURIN, Winslow, Brzutoski, Lukin is a deep group.

They don't deal Renwick unless they get a monster return. He's offensive, solid defensively, a leader in the room, and has ties to the city/club. It's not quite Maggio-level but it's up there.

Del Mastro would be a great pickup. I wonder if Bowler has interest.

Great name!

The top 3 have given themselves a little separation in the west but we know it's Junior hockey and those things can change quick.
Cmon BB make a couple adds. Would be very interesting stretch run if both 401 rivals added n went for it same year.
I doubt it but would love to see it.

My opinion of solid defensively and yours differs some what. IMHO he’s a 3-4 on a good defensive team, not a guy who should be on the ice at the end of a close game. As for close ties to the team….that goes out the window if he gets a chance to be with a top contender.
Sure my agreement could have come with context. He is 3rd on the team +\- and second in scoring for D. Could be better for an OA. Don’t disagree 3-4 on a top contender but don’t believe we will be one when all is done. Using assets to get one top defensive D will not get this team past others this year. Need two while keeping Renwick as our 3-4. But that means 82 and 74 or 24 are out hurting next year. Anything short of that is spending assets to maybe get two rounds deep.

Maybe.

With what London did today and I’m guessing they get Harrison too, with their D and G will not be a favourable matchup come PO’s. Don’t believe Sarnia is done either. Same for Kitchener. Need to be all in or save assets. Either sit in the sidelines or use assets to improve next year.

Saying nothing of Saggy, Flint or OS. No easy outs this year.

Rayzor you missed it. He asked who i move of the names he listed answer Renwick. But the return is a better D man, he eats the minutes. Im not tied to many back there for the right deal.
Hes solid defensively?!?! Have you seen any games in the last few months, lots of giveaways!!
Ties to the city? That shouldnt mean a damn thing this is a business. If the decision is to sell Mags goes too. Im not running a team based on ties.

I never said he was solid. Ties to the city means a lot for this organization for whatever it matters. We talking 5 or 6 on the team with ties?

Morneau, Smith, Renwick, Maggio all have ties. Graniero's more of an affiliate so didn't include him.

Ethan Martin's father played for Windsor same year as Bill Bowler,he was a tough D,drafted by Rangers in the 3rd,in fact his brother Jeff Martin also played for Spits and was drafted by an NHL team too,so Martin connected to 2 former Spits.

Touche.

Biggest difference - the Storm were well ahead of the Spitfires in the standings.

The elephant in the room is Bowler selling, buying, staying put? Only management truly knows. Bowler probably stirring the pot to make sure other teams are going to pay dearly. Is he waiting to see what other teams add first? Too bad the trade deadline isn't after the next 6 games. 3 against Saginaw, 1 London, 1 Flint 1 Sarnia. The last 10 games have been a relatively lighter schedule overall with many of them against teams low in the standings. Does 1, 2 D make the difference for a legitimate run?? Sure they would help but maybe, maybe not as far as going deep.
