LMAO. That was bad at the time, but my god, that aged so much worse. :laugh:
Backstrom who has 30 goal seasons, 100 pt seasons, a stanley cup, and is a HOFer cant get 10M ..... But Marner who has NON of these things got 11M ???
1. Neither got 11m.
2. Backstrom is not a HOFer yet, and Marner will absolutely be a HOFer when his career ends too.
3. Backstrom was 30 when he won his Stanley Cup.
4. It's been over a decade since Backstrom's singular 30 goal, 100 point season.
5. Marner paced for 30 goals and 100 points last year, and he also paced for/got higher point totals in his age 21 and 22 seasons than any other season Backstrom had, despite Backstrom's greater production opportunity.
6. Backstrom signed at age 32, through age 37 (which includes some heavy decline years), coming off a season pacing 16 goals and 72 points.
7. Marner is a better player than Backstrom ever was, and signed through his prime years.
8. This is a Nylander thread.
No playmaker has ever been paid like Marner.
Not sure where you got this idea. For the record...
Goals as a percentage of total points, at time of signing contract:
McDavid = 31%
Marner = 30%

Oh good, the "it's not the playoffs" morons are here too.

Good. I was hoping they would finally infect this thread too.

Why not just log off until the playoffs. Oh wait, they couldn't tr*ll that way!!
I'm of that mindset too. I get it. Nothing really matters til the playoffs with this team, but doesn't mean you can't enjoy the regular season or give credit when it is due. Like if nothing matters til the playoffs meaning you can't give praise until then, then hold off on the hate until then too. Too much of a one-way street here for many to fit their shtick.

You know the organization has issues when William Nylander is the shinning jewel, no bad threads, media press and almost unanimously agreed upon salary amount in this world.

Here’s to you Willy!

Add winger to that. There is no "rule" into getting in the HHOF any more. Pat Verbeek has 1400+ games, 522 goals and a Cup but is not in.
Not really sure about your discussion but I would think that if Matthews and Marner end up 1/2 in franchise scoring by the time they retire that makes them both locks for the HOF.

Not sure Nylander would get in though.

Here's the Canadian forward William Nylander, seemingly happy hugging the swedish net minder Henrik Lundqvist at the
2017 world championship-

A confusing moment for the hockey world, and a lot of unanswered questions of what happened that day still remains. Noone seem to have an answer, and I've been told odds are we aren't ever gonna find out.
Have you heard of Dual Citizenship.
Also, if you are born in Canada, you are Canadian by birth.
Lastly, why does it matter where Willie is from. Being Canadian does not make someone a great Hockey Player or vice versa.
Or are you one of those that have a typical image of what and how Canadian looks like and if that person doesn’t fit that image, he/she/they are deem not Canadian?

Are you claiming it is a big conspiracy that he, his family, and everyone else say that he was born in Calgary?
